Pricetag 1.0.2: no recipe makes value out of nothing
File: pricetag-1.0.2+mc26.1.2.jar, for Minecraft 26.1.2. The 1.21.1 version stays at 1.0.1 for now.
Pricetag works out what every item is worth from the pack's recipes. Mods like Void Relic copy items for that value and turn items back into it, so a price that is wrong somewhere is free value for whoever finds it. Running 1.0.1 in a pack of 216 mods turned up 140 recipes like that. This version fixes the causes in the engine, so the pack no longer has to pin prices by hand. In that same pack the hand pins went from 103 to 21.
Recipes are read more carefully
- A recipe with an ingredient that is not an item, usually a fluid, is no longer priced. Before, the fluid was simply left out. The Cyclic Solidifier makes an ender pearl block out of cobblestone and liquid ender, so the block was worth 1 and broke into nine pearls.
- A recipe that takes in the item it shows as its result no longer prices that item. The armour trim priced 66 armour pieces, Unobtainium included, at the cheapest template plus a pair of leather boots. Dyeing did the same.
- An ingredient the recipe gives back, like a mould, is not charged for.
- Keys such as
bonus, byproduct, secondaryandextraare read as secondary results, not as ingredients. The Cyclic crusher writes its extra nugget underbonus, and 52 of its recipes were thrown out because of it. - When a mod's recipe shows an ingredient once but its json asks for nine, the nine count. Ender IO's alloy smelter makes an ender pearl out of nine dusts, and each dust was worth a whole pearl.
Ores and raw materials are worth what you can make of them
A material no recipe can make, like an ore or a raw metal, used to get a flat mining anchor. An Allthemodium ingot was 122,800 and its raw ore 2,048, so smelting the ore multiplied its value by 60.
The new minedMaterials option decides what happens.
FLOOR, the default. The material starts at the anchor and goes up until no recipe that takes only that material makes something worth more. This also works when the slot takes more than one item (an ore and its deepslate ore under one tag), and for items inc:dusts,c:raw_materials,c:ores,c:gems,c:nuggets,c:clustersandc:storage_blockseven when a recipe already priced them. Two recipes that make more of each other, a gem into two dusts and a dust back into a gem, would keep climbing forever. Those items keep their price and the log names them.ANCHOR, the same as 1.0.1.ZERO, as in ProjectE. Ores and raw materials are worth nothing and the recipes that start from them price nothing.
Prices you set yourself (overrides, the curated values.json) and the values in the built-in table are never raised.
Fixed prices
- When an item has both a value in the built-in table and a published ProjectE value, the lower one wins. An echo shard was 8,192 in Pricetag's table and 192 in ProjectE.
- A ProjectE conversion with a count now reads it from the conversion, which is where ProjectE writes it. A chipped anvil was worth sixteen anvils, and using an anvil chips it.
- Published values are kept on every start. In 1.0.1 they were lost whenever a world loaded its saved prices instead of scanning again.
For pack makers
scanBlacklisttakes a recipe id, a recipe serializer (minecraft:crafting_dye), a recipe type or a whole namespace. 1.0.1 only matched the type or the namespace, even though its config said recipe ids.- A new report lists fixed prices that some recipe makes for less, under "seeds above a recipe" in the log and in
/pricetag report. Pricetag keeps the price, you decide which number is wrong. - The log says how many recipes were not priced and why, with a few examples each time.
- A world works its prices out again when the curated
values.json, the published values orminedMaterialschange. Before, onlyoverridesandscanBlacklistcounted.
Updating
- The first start scans every world again. Prices will move: ores, raw materials, dusts and nuggets mostly go up, things priced through a fluid or a trim lose their price.
- If you pinned prices by hand to get around 1.0.1, empty the
overrideslist, start the world and pin again only what is still wrong. - Void Relic 1.0.8 works with it as it is.
