Pretension

This mod greatly alters the player's experience to be more exploration focused

Loot Capsules

There are 5 different types of loot capsules. Common, Food, Rare, Epic, and Legendary

 

Each can be found in a corresponding Supply Pod that spawn around the world as a structure

 

Each capsule drops a corresponding level of loot based on the capsule

 

All but Legendary capsule can be traded with the Capsule Collector villager that spawns in structures around the world

 

Enchantments

Experienced Kills: Applies to weapons. Up to 3. Has an increasing chance to drop a bottle of enchanting when an entity is killed.

 

Demise: Applies to weapons. Up to 5. When hitting an enemy, apply a stacking debuff (chance to appply increases up to 100%) that damages the entity when the duration runs out based on the level and health of the entity.

 

Leaping: Applies to leggings. Up to 3. When pressing the spacebar while off the ground, the player will jump forward like a double jump. Adds a jump for each level.

 

Items

Enhancement Medallion: Found in Rare Capsule loot. When used, will give the player a random enhancement.

 

Watch of Flight: Found in Epic Capsule loot. When used, will give the player creative flight for a short duration. Has 5 uses.

 

Totem of Vexing: Found in Epic Capsule loot. When on low health, will put the player in spectator mode for 3 seconds. Does not prevent fall damage. Does not save the player from death like the totem does. Don't forget you can use scroll whell to move faster while in spectator mode.

 

Premature Demise: Found in Legendary Capsules loot. Does 6 damage. When hitting an enemy that has the demise effect, it will trigger the damage from the end of the demise effect early.

 

Caged Flower: Dropped rarely from Chained Spectres. Makes Spectral Guards follow you when right clicking on them. Can be used to craft the Spectral Station block.

 

Spectral Station: Crafted. Needs to be redstone powered. Keeps the nearest Spectral Guard in its radius while giving it Regeneration.

 

Dreadful Bow: Crafted from Dread Limbs and string. Can only shot Dread Tipped Arrows. On hit, will shoot small projectiles in the air dealing damage when landing on entities. Dread Golems do not duplicate when killed with the Dreadful Bow.

 

Dread Tipped Arrows: Crafted from Dread Chunks and Iron Nuggets. can only be used by a Dreadful Bow.

 

Surgeon's Slugger: Crafted from Dread Chunks, Dread Limbs, Dread Core, Dread Combustion System, and Flint and Steel. Hold click to shoot 5 large fireballs.

 

Entities

Basalt Ghast: Spawns in Basalt Deltas. Does not drop anything. Shoots a fireball in any horizontal direction. Chance to spawn with a Piglin riding it.

 

Chained Spectre: A passive mob that spawns anywhere in groups. Simply walks around.

 

Ruined Spectre: Neutral mob that spawns in vanilla dimensions except the end and spawns two Ruined Spectres when killing another entity. Targets hostile mobs. Use a caged flower on it to turn the Ruined Spectre into a wither rose.

 

Dread Golem: A weak hostile mob that duplicates on death. Does not duplicate on death if it is on fire when it dies or when exploded. Drops Dread Chunks.

 

Dread Stalker: Hostile mob that sneaks up on players, dealing damage based on armor level upon death. If on fire when killed, will do half the damage. Instantly dies from explosions. When hit, spawns a Dread Golem. Drops Dread Limbs.

 

Dread Disembowler: Hostile mob only found in the Dread Dimension. Spawns with a shield that makes it impervious to damage. Can be broken with around 6 explosions. Explodes on death. Drops Dread Combustion System.

 

Dread Parent: Hostile mob that only spawns in the Dread Dimension. Cannot move. Spawns many Dread Golems when being hit. Drops Dread Core.

 

Felled Knight: Tanky hostile mob with a lot of health. Attacks Spectral entities (similarly to all other Dread enemies) and gains resistance on kill. Resistance level increases for every kill. Drops the Dread Heirloom.

 

Spectral Bard: Spawns on a structure that only spawns in Soul Sand Valley, Swamp, Dark Forest, Flower Forest, Stony Shore, Badlands, and Desert.

Click on to open a shop menu where each item is purchased with a Caged Flower.

 

Spectral Mage: Neutral mob that can fly and shoots a blue skull projectile. When the projectile is in the air, it shoots smaller projectiles that light the target on fire when hit. When the main projectile hits an entity, applies fire for 30 seconds (completely ethical).

 

Spectral Guard: Tanky armored neutral mob that attacks hostile mobs. Has a slightly large attack range. Can walk on water. Upon killing an enemy, it gets a strength effect for 20 seconds that increases infinitely every kill.

 

Sharp Hound: A passive mob that spawns from a Sharp Hound Egg after 5 minutes that drops from Legendary Capsule loot. Can be tamed with raw copper. Can be ridden but only moves when tamed. Deals a large amount of damage while also having an increased step height (2.6 while horses have a step height of around 1.6).

 

Enhancements

Enhancements are applied with a 3% chance when an entity spawns. Applies Resistance and Speed 1 by default.

  1. Swift: Speed 3
  2. Strong: Strength 2
  3. Resistant: Resistence 3 and knockback immunity
  4. Invisible: Invisibility
  5. Regenerative: Regeneration 3
  6. Forceful: Attack knockback 5
  7. Instinctive: Always pathfinds to player in a specified radius
  8. Charged: Fire resistance and 30% to strike attacker with lightning
  9. Venemous: Applies poison 2 when dealing damage
  10. Volatile: Explodes on death

 

There is a gamerule that allows the player to set the spawn chance (percent value).

There is a separate command for setting it to its default value, 3.

Dread Dimension

Dread Dimension is opened from the normal nether portal-like structure, using Blocks of Dread and the Dread Heirloom.

The current 2 biomes are the Canvas Plains and the Canvas Forest.

Entities that spawn: Dread Golem, Stalker, Disembowler, and Dread Parent.

When all these entities walk on the Canvas Grass, it turns the blocks into Painted Canvas Grass, which burns quickly.

 

None of these features are fully finished and still have bugs
