Description

A kit for building a house where nothing is what it looks like.

Getting the kit
Drop a stick of TNT and a diamond on the ground within two blocks of each other. They fuse in a flash of sparks and leave a chest called Troll Machine 2000, stocked with one of everything. In creative it is all in its own tab.
Prank TNT
Indistinguishable from the real thing, and it needs no flint and steel - touching it lights the fuse. Then it hops and hisses for two seconds before going off slightly bigger than vanilla.
That gap is the joke: long enough to work out what you have done, too short to leave the room. TNT caught in another blast lights on a short random fuse, so a packed room ripples rather than going off in one frame.
Ghost Block
An ordinary, solid block of stone until somebody stands on it. A quarter of a second later the floor is gone. It only goes when it is trodden on, so you can lay a whole floor of them over an open pit.

Vanishing Ore
Identical to diamond ore. Breaks normally, drops nothing, however many times it is mined. It needs an iron pickaxe purely so it behaves like the real thing while somebody is inspecting it.
Creepy Head
A skeleton skull on the floor. Walk close and it snaps, in a burst of dark smoke, into a player head with the eyes whited out. Back away and it goes back to being a skull. It cannot hurt anyone.

Jump Scare Tile
A floor tile giving off the faintest trickle of smoke. Step on it and three things happen at once: a wall of black smoke erupts with a scream, you are blinded for four seconds, and a figure is standing three blocks ahead of you - in the direction you were walking, so it is right in your way.
It cannot be fought, cannot move, and dissolves after five seconds. Completely harmless. Its real job is to teach the victim that the floor in this room cannot be trusted, which makes the ghost blocks further in land much harder.
The quieter three
- Prank Cake - floats a reassuring label above itself. Taking a bite sets off a large explosion.
- Prank Sound Marker - invisible. Walking through it plays the hiss of TNT about to go off, and then nothing happens, which burns the victim's suspicion right before the real trap. Hold the marker item and every placed one outlines itself in red so you can find them.
- Chest Locker - right-click any container to seal it. Both halves of a double chest lock together.
Troll Creeper
Runs the whole routine - the hiss, the swell, the flash, the bang, the smoke - and then vanishes without a trace. From the other side it is indistinguishable from a real one until they notice they still have all their hearts. No crater and no damage to anything. Spawn eggs work in dispensers, so a ceiling of them on a tripwire will rain them down.

Forge 1.20.1, Java 17. Install on the server as well as the client. Build the room out of bedrock if you want it to survive. Free to use in modpacks.
