Description
PRAETERITUM FUTURUM
This is a modular machine and logistics mod for minecraft/NeoForge.
My idea to create this was to leave every bit of automatization to be customizable by the player, and lay the foundations of implementation of third party code. It works by having a base machine where you dictate what goes where and how it gets processed.
FEATURES
• Ruined Outpost structures spawning in the Overworld
• Salvage Framing and Advanced Salvage custom blocks
• Anomaly Compass for locating structures via right-click
• Salvage Cutter and Yool wrench tools for dual inventory mechanics
• Salvage Scrap and Refined Scrap materials
• Strange Artifact dropped from advanced salvage blocks using the cutter
• Machine Framework block entity
• Inventory Module for accessing internal slots
• Directional IO modules for routing inputs and outputs
• Ghost item filter containers for precise inventory control
• Smelting Module, Stonecutter Module, and Composter Module
Development & Transparency
This project was developed in close collaboration with AI assistance (Google's Gemini) to design, architect, and debug complex NeoForge mechanics, custom item components, and container synchronization.
Check out the (./Gemini) directory in the github for the complete chronological devlog, including architectural notes, conversation archives, and timestamped development screenshots.
Requirements & Installation
Minecraft: 1.21.1
NeoForge: Latest recommended build

Backlog
• Blacklist Filter Options: Item exclusion rules for inventory/IO modules filters
• Blueprints: Copies module placement and slot configurations across machines for easy daisy-chaining
• Advanced Machine Frameworks: Double chest storage capacity for modules, more space for more complex module chains.
• Cauldron module: Liquid storage tank slot
• Fluid and Block Interaction Modules, possible names: Thermal Interaction Module, Phase Change Module, Catalytic Solidification Module, or Thermofluidic Reactor Module
• Advanced IO Modules: Higher item transfer volume per tick, with adjacent input/output slot customization.
• Advanced Filter Module: target specific adjacent slots to filter, prioritizing blacklist options.(Configurable slots?)
• Pipe Module: Moves items/liquids between inventory/tank slots
• Redstone Modules: Configurable single slot logic gates, Comparator, Observer module, Dispenser and Dropper modules, and Light Emitting Module(enabling/disabling modules?)
• Piston Module: Converts the machine into a customizable moving piston block entity(many/all faces?)
• Crafter Module: Streamlined automated crafting execution
• Vanilla Utility Automation Modules: Adapting vanilla functional blocks to automate equipment repairing (Anvil), disenchanting (Grindstone), potion brewing (Brewing Stand), and equipment upgrading (Smithing Table)
Future ideas roadmap
• Block Breaking Module: Breaks any block in the world configured via an adjacent IO module, tied to output inventory slot configuration
• Block Placer Module: Places blocks in front of the face configured via an adjacent IO module, scheduled for implementation after vanilla utility mechanics are fully established
• Woodcutting Module: Converts logs into stripped logs and planks into decorative wood variants (acting as a dedicated wood-based stonecutter).
