Poro adds Poros to Minecraft with custom GeckoLib animations, peaceful behavior, sleep mechanics, natural spawning, and a new taming system.

Poro Behavior

• Custom Poro model powered by GeckoLib

• Smooth idle, walking, and sleeping animations

• Walking speed dynamically scales with movement speed

• Peaceful wandering during the day

• Poros stop and sleep at night

• Moving a sleeping Poro keeps its sleeping pose

• Attacking a sleeping Poro wakes it up, causing it to flee

• After eating, Poros will eventually fall asleep

A new way to make Poros your companions!

• Added Poro Furballs

• Use Poro Treats to tame wild Poros

• Tamed Poros can accompany you as friendly companions

Natural Spawning

Poros naturally spawn in snowy environments.

Spawn Weight: 20
Group Size: 2–4

Valid Surfaces

• Snow

• Snow Blocks

• Grass

• Ground Blocks

Spawn Biomes

Poros use the Forge snowy biome tag (forge:is_snowy), allowing them to spawn in:

• Snowy Plains

• Snowy Taiga

• Snowy Beach

• Grove

• Snowy Slopes

• Jagged Peaks

• Frozen Peaks

• Ice Spikes

• Frozen River

• Frozen Ocean

Note: Non-snowy cold biomes are excluded. Natural spawning only occurs in newly generated chunks.

Requirements

• Minecraft: 1.20.1

• Mod Loader: Forge

• Required Dependency: GeckoLib

Installation

1. Install Minecraft Forge 1.20.1.

2. Install GeckoLib.

3. Place the Poro .jar file into your mods folder.

4. Launch Minecraft.

FAQ

Q: Why can't I find any Poros?
A: Make sure you're exploring newly generated chunks in valid snowy biomes and that GeckoLib is installed correctly.

Q: Are Poros hostile?
A: No. Poros are completely peaceful.

Q: Can I tame Poros?
A: Yes! Use Poro Treats on a wild Poro to tame it.

Q: Can Poros breed?
A: Breeding is not currently supported.
