Pokéwork

Give your Cobblemon Pokémon jobs that suit their types: chop, mine, dig, cook, farm, haul, guard and more, from the interaction wheel.

Pokéwork

Give your Cobblemon Pokémon jobs that suit their types. Send a Pokémon out, sneak-right-click it, and pick a job on its interaction wheel. It gets to work where it stands and keeps going until you stop it or call it back to its Poké Ball.

Jobs

Job Who What they do
Chop Fighting Fell natural trees nearby, the whole tree at once, punching the trunk until it comes down
Mine Steel, Rock Mine exposed natural stone and ores
Dig Ground Dig sand, gravel, clay, mud, soul sand and the like
Courier Flying Fly between your Chop, Mine and Dig workers and your chests, emptying their packs
Cook Fire Breathe fire on nearby furnaces, blast furnaces and smokers so they cook without fuel
Water Water Keep nearby farmland wet and give crops a growth boost
Harvest Bug Pick ripe crops, nether wart, sweet berries, cocoa, melons and pumpkins, and replant them
Plant Grass Sow the seeds you put in their pack on empty farmland
Haul Normal Pick up items lying around and store them in your chests
Guard Electric by day, Dark by night Fight hostile mobs that threaten you, your Pokémon, villagers and animals
Repel Ghost Keep hostile mobs from spawning around them
Freeze Ice Turn still water into ice (never next to farmland)
Bloom Fairy Fill beehives faster and grow flowers on bare grass

Dual-type Pokémon get the jobs of both types. Every job plays a matching move animation.

Chop, Mine and Dig can focus on one block: right after starting the job, right-click a block (an iron ore, a birch log) and that's all they'll work on.

Stats

  • Attack / Sp. Atk: a bigger work area (10 blocks plus one per 40 points, up to 24), and Fortune I-III on what Chop, Mine and Dig break.
  • Speed: every job goes faster.
  • HP: a bigger pack, from 9 slots up to 54.
  • Level: like tool tiers for mining. Stone at 15, iron at 30, diamond at 50, netherite at 70.

Pack

Every Pokémon has its own pack ("Pack" on the wheel). It's saved on the Pokémon, so it follows it to your party, the PC and trades. Release a Pokémon and its pack is handed back to you first.

Workers put what they gather in nearby chests and barrels: one that already holds that item, otherwise an empty one, otherwise they hold on to it until there's room.

Builds

Pokémon never break:

  • blocks a player placed,
  • generated structures (villages, dungeons, ruins),
  • blocks that hold items,
  • logs of trees that have no natural leaves, so log cabins and walls stay standing,
  • anything inside the protected areas you set in the config (for example a spawn town built into a map).

Requirements

  • Minecraft 1.21.1 and Cobblemon 1.8.2
  • NeoForge 21.1.240 or newer (with Kotlin for Forge), or Fabric Loader 0.17.2 or newer with Fabric API and Fabric Language Kotlin
  • Install on both the server and every client.

Configuration

config/pokework-common.toml: which types get each job, how stats scale the work, mining area, tree size, tool-tier and fortune levels, courier range, cook, water and guard numbers, each protection rule, and the protected areas. The blocks Chop, Mine and Dig work on are block tags (pokework:chop, pokework:mine, pokework:dig) that a datapack can change.
