Pocket Creatures

Catch, train and battle 24 original creatures. Turn-based fights, evolution lines, wandering trainers and an index to fill in.

Pocket Creatures

A creature-collecting game built inside Minecraft. Twenty-four species across eight evolution lines, turn-based battles, wandering trainers, an index to fill in, a village clinic and shop, an opening cinematic and a start menu.

GETTING STARTED

The first time you join, the cinematic plays and asks you to choose one of three starters. After that, everything hangs off one key: press P to open the menu with your team, the index, and the intro again. If you prefer commands, /pocket start <species> does the same thing.

PLAYING

Wild creatures spawn near you, at a level that rises with distance from world spawn. Right-click one to start a battle.

Battles are turn-based. Moves have types, power, accuracy and uses (PP); turn order follows priority then speed. Criticals, same-type bonus and type matchups all apply. Status conditions - poison, burn, paralysis, sleep, frozen - change what a turn does.

Catching: throw a ball. Odds improve as the target weakens, and roughly double against a sleeping or frozen target.

Trainers walk the world and challenge you on sight once you have a team. Their team size and level follow how far you are from spawn. Beating one pays emeralds, and each trainer can only be beaten once.

Evolution happens on level up, at the level listed in the index entry.

Villages get a clinic and a shop counter beside the meeting point the first time you visit, in existing worlds as well as new ones. The clinic heals your whole team.
