Plant Fibers v1.0.2

Harvest plant fibers from vegetation and craft an entire grass-tier progression — healing items, building blocks, a custom bed, and a full armor set.

Plant Fiber + Grass Tier is a lightweight survival mod that gives purpose to all the grass, flowers, and vines you break while exploring. Vegetation now drops Plant Fiber, a versatile crafting material that opens up an early-game tier of items below leather.

Plant Fiber

Breaking any of 44 vegetation blocks — grass, flowers, ferns, vines, kelp, cacti, and more — has a 25% chance to drop a Plant Fiber. Three Plant Fiber can also be crafted into String, giving you a renewable source from common plants.

Healing Items

Craft quick-use healing consumables from plants and fibers:

Grass Bandage — Grants Regeneration I for 6 seconds. 6-second cooldown. Crafted from 2 bandage plants + 1 Plant Fiber.
Grass Plaster — Grants Regeneration II for 8 seconds. 10-second cooldown. Crafted from 3 bandage plants + 2 Plant Fiber.

Bandage plants include grass, tall grass, ferns, large ferns, vines, and kelp. Both items use a quick bow-draw animation and show their stats in the tooltip.

Grass Fiber Block

Compact 9 Plant Fiber into a Grass Fiber Block — a green, grassy building block that serves as the base material for everything in the grass tier. It can be broken back down into 9 Plant Fiber at any time.

Breaks fastest with a hoe
Flammable — can be ignited by lava and spreads fire
Works as a decorative building block with grass-textured sides and top

Grass Bed

Craft a Grass Bed from 3 Grass Fiber Blocks + 3 Planks (any wood type).

The Grass Bed features a custom 3D model — a grass mound with scattered blades laid across the surface and a raised pillow on the head end. It functions as a full bed: set your respawn point, skip the night, and sleep through thunderstorms. Like vanilla beds, it explodes in the Nether and End.

Grass Armor

A full armor set crafted entirely from Grass Fiber Blocks:

Grass armor provides 7 armor points (more than leather's 5) but has lower durability (50% of leather by default). It can be repaired with Plant Fiber on an anvil. The armor has an enchantability of 15, matching leather.

Configuration

Every feature can be toggled and tuned in the config file:

Drop chance — Adjust the Plant Fiber drop rate (0–100%, default 25%)
Healing items — Toggle bandage/plaster individually; adjust regen level (I–V), duration, and cooldown
Grass Bed — Toggle placement on/off
Grass Armor — Toggle the full set on/off; adjust durability multiplier (10–100% of leather)

When armor or items are disabled, they cannot be used — armor can't be equipped via shift-click or dispensers.
