Pirates On Ocean

Currently adds custom pirate patrols with pillagers and evokers on boats near players, with plans to introduce unique pirate ship models and custom pirate skins for richer gameplay

Pirates On Ocean introduces thrilling new pirate patrols to Minecraft, spawning groups of pillagers and evokers aboard boats near players, primarily in ocean biomes. These dynamic patrols create exciting new challenges on the seas, bringing intense encounters with pirate-themed enemies who navigate the waters in their vessels.

The patrol spawning system is carefully designed to trigger under specific conditions, such as day/night cycles, proximity to players, and biome restrictions, ensuring balanced and immersive gameplay. Each patrol features a captain mob leading the group, adding strategic depth and variety to the encounters.



Boats are spawned only over water, avoiding land and occupied points of interest, to create authentic pirate raids that fit naturally into Minecraft’s world. This mod enhances the vanilla patrol mechanic by introducing naval elements and thematic pirate mobs riding boats, greatly expanding the oceanic adventure aspect of the game.

Future plans include adding fully custom pirate ship models and unique pirate skins and textures, which will enrich the visual appeal and immersion of the mod, making pirate encounters more vivid and memorable.

 



Technical Details and Gameplay Mechanics

Cooldown Between Spawns: Between 6000 and 6599 ticks (roughly 5 to 5.5 minutes), with some random variation (6000 + random.nextInt(600)).

Spawn Conditions:

    Patrols spawn only if monster spawning is enabled.
    The game rule DO_PATROL_SPAWNING must be set to true.
    Patrols spawn more rarely during the day (25% chance per cooldown) and more frequently at night (50% chance).
    At least one player must be present, and the player cannot be in spectator mode.
    Patrols will not spawn near occupied points of interest within a 2-block radius.
    Patrols spawn only if the spawn area is loaded and in biomes that allow patrol spawns (excluding biomes tagged WITHOUT_PATROL_SPAWNS).
    Patrols spawn only on water at least 7 blocks away from the nearest land.

Patrol Composition:

    Each patrol consists of 5 boats spaced in a formation relative to the spawn position and facing the player.
    Each boat carries 1 to 2 mobs.
    The first boat has a patrol captain pillager (leader).
    Other mobs are pillagers or evokers depending on difficulty:
    Easy difficulty: 5% chance to spawn evoker and 95% chance to spawn pillager.
    Normal difficulty: 35% chance to spawn evoker and 65% chance to spawn pillager.
    Hard difficulty: 50% chance to spawn evoker and 50% chance to spawn pillager.

Mob Behavior:

    Captain mob is set as patrol leader and given a patrol target.
    Mobs ride boats and are positioned precisely on the water surface.
