Pick Relay
Automate the grind. Schedule your tools.
Pick Relay is a client-side tool scheduler for Minecraft.
Instead of automatically choosing the "best" tool, Pick Relay lets you decide exactly which tools will be used, in which order, and for how long.
Build a queue of up to 36 tools from your inventory and let Pick Relay handle the repetitive work.
Schedule every tool individually
Each tool in the queue has its own independent settings:
- Until Broken — use the tool until it breaks.
- Durability Budget — consume a specific amount of actual durability.
- Blocks Broken — use the tool for a specific number of successfully broken blocks.
- Preserve at 1 — automatically stop using that tool before it breaks.
This means one session can mix disposable tools, enchanted tools, Silk Touch tools, Fortune tools, or anything else you want in an exact order.
Two mining modes
Single Block
Locks the session to the block position you were looking at when mining started.
This is useful for compact cobblestone or stone generators where accidentally mining the backing block could damage the farm.
Looking somewhere else pauses mining without stopping the session.
Line Mining
Continuously mines whatever valid block is currently under your crosshair.
You can freely move the camera to redirect mining without restarting Pick Relay.
This works well with larger or linear generators and other repetitive work areas.
Smart inventory relay
Pick Relay tracks the tools you selected rather than blindly remembering their inventory slots.
If you move a queued tool somewhere else in your inventory, Pick Relay can find it again when its turn arrives.
It can also:
- select queued tools already in your hotbar;
- move tools from inventory into free hotbar slots;
- relay tools through a full hotbar;
- respect your exact queue order regardless of physical slot order;
- skip queued tools that are no longer in your inventory.
Pick Relay never inserts hidden IDs or custom data into your tools.
Safe durability handling
Pick Relay observes actual tool durability.
Unbreaking only advances a Durability Budget when durability is really consumed, while durability already spent remains counted even if Mending repairs the tool later.
Preserve at 1 always takes priority over production targets.
Built for farms
Block limits count successful block destruction, not item pickups.
That means Pick Relay works normally with farms where drops immediately enter:
- hoppers;
- water streams;
- storage systems;
- other collection mechanisms.
Safety
Pick Relay anchors the session to your player's position.
The session automatically stops if you are moved, including movement caused by the player, mobs, knockback, falling, or another external source.
Camera rotation does not stop the session.
Opening chat, your inventory, or the pause menu does not intentionally cancel Pick Relay.
You can reopen the Pick Relay GUI at any time and stop the session manually.
Supported tools
Pick Relay supports tools detected through Minecraft's normal tool tags:
- Pickaxes
- Axes
- Shovels
- Hoes
Properly tagged modded tools are supported as well.
What Pick Relay does NOT do
Pick Relay does not:
- automatically choose the best tool;
- aim or move your player;
- search for blocks;
- pathfind;
- increase mining speed;
- increase reach;
- perform vein mining;
- repair tools;
- generate resources.
Minecraft and the server continue to handle normal mining, enchantments, durability and drops.
Compatibility
Minecraft: 1.21.1 Mod Loader: NeoForge 21.1.235+ Environment: Client-side only
The server does not need Pick Relay installed.
Controls
Pick Relay includes a configurable Open Pick Relay keybind.
Default: Mouse Button 5
Open the GUI, schedule your tools, choose your mining mode, and start the relay.
