Description
Ever wished you had somewhere safe to build your chest area? Ever wanted your friends to quit kicking your base's door down? Ever just needed a good place to take a break? Me too.
Now you can have all of that, and more!
Pete's Pocket Dimension gives you a special place that is all your own, featuring:
- A safe environment: it is always day in the pocket dimension, and mobs do not naturally spawn
- A place to build and chill
- Instant to-and-from access, via the button in your inventory
How it works:
Simply open your inventory at any time and place, click the black orb button, and there you are! You will be instantly transported to the pocket dimension. The dimension is identical for all players, but each player has their own personal pocket and cannot enter others' naturally (or at all, except via commands, etc). The pocket has an impassible, unbreakable border.
Build height is increased to 670 in the pocket, allowing for massive storage, base building, whatever your heart desires!
When a player leaves the pocket dimension, they will return to exactly where they were - so be careful if you were flying, as this will now cause you to fall!
Time does not pass in the overworld (unless playing with others) when you are in the pocket dimension.

I consider this to be somewhat Vanilla-friendly, as it does not affect fundamental gameplay, but it does allow opportunities for creative solutions to some situations you may normally encounter in survival.
This mod was inspired by personal need, but it occurred to me that others would probably enjoy the mechanic and get some use out of it. Good luck, have fun!

(Just a heads up, a few minor improvements and versions for newer releases of Minecraft may be made going forward. No specific plans currently.)
Dependencies: Forge
Compatibility: Currently untested with most mods that change inventory UI signifcantly. I make no promises about this lol - but otherwise should be compatible with almost every other type of mod.
