Good Boy: Better Pets 0.2.0 — Minecraft 26.3, NeoForge, Java 25

Initial standalone release. Pet your owned dogs, cats and kittens with an empty main hand using G. Rebind petting to a keyboard key or mouse button in Minecraft Controls or Client visuals > Petting key; Escape unbinds it and hides the prompt.

Original animations fitted to vanilla models: cat stretching, kneading biscuits and chest grooming; dog digging and head/ear reactions. Petting includes eye expressions and sounds from the animal, with first-person hands and third-person observers. Paw-to-face grooming has been removed.

Calm cats act every 3–6 minutes; adult dogs attempt a dig every 10–20 minutes. Dog digging removes one safe exposed eligible block, plays block-specific sounds and can occasionally find a bonus item. Owner preferences and administrator world rules control digging and idle behavior; client visual settings are separate.

Install this exact Minecraft/loader build on the server and participating clients. SeamlessLib is not required or bundled. No additional runtime library is required.

Digging honors mobGriefing, spawn protection, native cancellation and the tested protection adapters. Other claim systems require verified adapters. Optional renderer/protection combinations and exact tested builds are listed in the repository acceptance documentation. Unsupported custom rigs or eye layouts can fall back; affected visuals can be disabled.

Local acceptance covers packaged singleplayer, two clients, late tracking, reconnects, save/restart, keybinding persistence, animation/UI captures and recorded optional integrations. Software-rendered tests do not establish compatibility with every hardware driver; silent audio tests verify event routing and engine playback. This build uses an upstream beta loader and is labeled Beta.
