What's new

1.7:

  • Fix random enchantments not applying when shift-clicking the villager output slot. Not included on 1.20.1, which has no unresolved random enchantment on villager trades.
  • More Enchiridion compatibility
    • Enchantments are now grouped and colored by category in Penchant's enchanting table
    • Enchantments now show an error message when incompatible due to category, like vanilla incompatibility. Category grouping, colors, and this error are on 26.1.2, 26.2.0, 26.3, and 1.21.1. 1.21.2 through 1.21.11 and 1.20.1 have no Enchiridion build to compile against.
    • Fix crash when enchanting using Enchiridion's enchanting table
    • Enchiridion is not available on 26.3 yet but hopefully it will work properly when it updates. 26.3 is compiled against the 26.2 jar.
  • Fix enchanting table spawning particles at every valid bookshelf location regardless of if a bookshelf is present. Not needed on 1.20.1, where the vanilla table does not do this.
  • Lecterns & chiseled bookshelves no longer provide fractional enchantment power for the vanilla table. Included on 26.1.2, 26.2.0, 26.3, and 1.21.x. On 1.20.1 those blocks already give the vanilla table no enchantment power.
  • New API event for showing incompatibility messages in the Penchant table
  • Enchanted loot now only has up to 50% progress (previously up to 100%)
  • Add Modest Magic compat
    • 1.21.2 through 1.21.11 are compiled against the 1.21.1 jar, and 26.2.0 and 26.3 against the 26.1.2 jar, because those Minecraft versions have no Modest Magic build of their own. 1.20.1 uses the 1.2.2 Forge jar.
    • Altar enchanting and tablet smithing will only enchant up to level 1, you must use your equipment to gain higher levels
  • Curse of Binding and the Durability Tweak module may have balance issues due to not being able to repair your armor, you may want to disable one or the other in your pack
  • New progression.multiplier option in config/penchant/gameplay.toml. Default 1, range 0.05–1000. 2 makes leveling twice as slow, 0.5 makes it twice as fast. It multiplies how much use an enchantment needs, not the XP level cost, and stacks with a datapack progress_cost_factor (and, on 26.x, with the per-item cost factor). Synced from the server, so it applies to existing worlds.
