PeaceSMP-1.0.jar
Curse Maven Snippet
What's new
**The Ascendant Path can now be taken.** Kill the Ascendant and the path is yours, and the whole server sees the crown pass to you. Any other death (a fall, mobs, lava) leaves it with its holder, so it has to be won in a fight.
### The resource pack
The optional resource pack, `PeaceSMP-Icons.zip`, is here.
- **Tier icons** on the action bar, in the value-change title, and on the player list and nametags in place of `[7]`: horns at value 0, a halo at value 10, a crown for the Ascendant. The `✦ ⚔ 🕊 ▲ ▼` symbols are redrawn so they match Minecraft's font.
- **Ability item textures.** Each issued ability item gets its own texture. Only the issued items change, so every other Blaze Rod and pane of Iron Bars on the server still looks like itself.
- **Sounds** for every ability, for karma rising and falling, for the Ascendant awakening and for a new season. They play on top of the old sounds, so nothing is lost without the pack.
- **Banners and screen tints.** Everyone sees a crown when the Ascendant Path is claimed and a banner when a new season starts. Your screen tints while you are caught in an Anti-Heal Aura or a Virtual Arena, while you are Vanished, and briefly when Hunter's Blood kicks in.
- Declining the pack changes nothing: you see the same text, items and sounds as before. Admins can turn the extra sounds and the tints off with `packSounds` and `screenOverlays` in the config.
### Fighting fair
- **Self-defense.** If someone hits you first, hitting them back for the next 15 seconds no longer resets your peaceful minutes. Only the player who was attacked is covered; whoever started the fight is not, even after being hit back.
- **Bow and trident hits now count**, the same as melee. Before, only melee hits reset your peaceful minutes.
- **Killing a value 9 or 10 player counts as two kills.** Hunting down pacifists costs more. Above value 5 that is two points, but one kill never drops you below 5.
- **Pacifists may put down hunters.** At value 6 or higher, killing a value 0 or 1 player costs you no karma and keeps your peaceful minutes. It still counts on your season record.
### Combat logging
- Hitting or being hit by a player puts you **in combat for 15 seconds**, with a countdown above your hotbar.
- **Logging out in combat kills you.** Your items drop where you stood, and whoever you were fighting gets the kill, with all the normal karma rules, including taking the Ascendant Path.
- A server restart is never counted. Admins can switch it off with `combatLogKill`.
### Value 10 is worth reaching
- **+6 hearts** instead of +4. Value 8 and 9 keep +4.
- **Hero of the Village**, for cheaper trades.
- **Vanish** now also gives Speed I, and its cooldown is 5 minutes instead of 10.
### For server admins
- **LuckPerms support.** Every `/peace` subcommand has its own permission node, `peacesmp.command.<name>`, so you can hand moderators exactly the commands they need. Without a permissions mod nothing changes: admin commands still need OP. The permissions API is bundled in the jar, so there is nothing extra to install.
- **Placeholders.** With Text Placeholder API installed, `%peacesmp:value%`, `%peacesmp:tier%`, `%peacesmp:kills%`, `%peacesmp:in_combat%`, the leaderboard and more are available to chat, scoreboard and tab-list mods.
- **Name-colour teams can be turned off** with `nameColorTeams`, for servers where another mod (TAB, a chat formatter) already manages teams. `/peace reload` applies it straight away.
- Every new number and switch is in `config/peacesmp.json`: the self-defense window, the combat tag, the high-value kill weight, the Vanish cooldown, and toggles for combat logging, the Ascendant passing on a kill and pacifists killing hunters.
