What's new

PCA Games 0.2.0 (Block Party)

New game: Block Party

  • Block Party Controller: place it and it builds a floor of coloured squares in front of you (16 by 16 to start with), with a pit underneath that has hay at the bottom. Nobody needs to build anything.
  • How it plays: each round a colour is shown, and when the time's up every other colour drops away for three seconds. Anyone who falls (or walks off the floor) is out and is sent behind the controller to watch. The floor comes back with a new pattern, each round is a little quicker, and the last one standing wins.
  • Clear signals: the colour appears as a big title and on the boss bar (which counts down), and as a block in each player's last hotbar slot if it's free. These blocks can't be placed or dropped and are taken back afterwards. Note block music plays while everyone hunts for their colour.
  • Commands: /blockparty start [players] puts every student (or the players you choose) on the floor, /blockparty stop ends the game, /blockparty build builds the floor again, and /blockparty info shows the settings.
  • Settings (right-click the controller, or /blockparty set): floor size, square size, number of colours, concrete or wool, pit depth, countdown (first and fastest), how much quicker each round, rounds to win, music, and place badges.
  • Auto mode for puzzle rooms: the game starts when someone steps on the floor. Surviving the set number of rounds gives a redstone signal for five seconds, to open a door or drop a key.
  • Place badges with PCA Quests 0.1.1 or newer: 1st, 2nd and 3rd place can each earn a badge you name.
  • Results go to chat (with how many rounds each player survived), and every round goes to the server log with a [BlockParty] tag.
