The pink fairies spawn in every biome that has "forest" in its name (with the exception of the nether variants). These fairies have low chance of spawning and can be caught with an empty bottle.
If you have a bottled fairy in your inventory upon death, it will be consumed to revive you with a little health and brief regeneration.
