Parallel Worlds by Agent772

Adds isolated **exploration dimensions** for mining and looting so your main world never gets strip-mined. Pick a destination through the portal, dig everything up, and come back — the dimension resets on schedule and a fresh one waits next restart.

What's new

Version 1.2.0

Added

  • Added datapack support for parallel worlds: datapacks can customize an exploration dimension's terrain generation by targeting the stable name parallelworlds:pw_<base>
  • Added optional per-portal destinations (perPortalDestinations, default false): when on, each portal leads to its own destination portal in the exploration dimension instead of one shared portal per dimension. Destinations are placed at mapped coordinates (portalCoordinateRatio), reuse nearby existing portals (portalSearchRadius), match the size of the portal you entered, and keep clear of other portals
  • Added paired home portals: portals built inside an exploration dimension now get a matching portal in the home dimension when you step through them, like nether portals. Portals there are remembered and rebuilt when their chunks reload, and a broken return portal can be relit in place so you never get stranded
  • Added the generatedPortalFrameBlock config option: portals the mod builds for you use this cheap block instead of the frame you ignite

Changed

  • portalFrameBlock now accepts block tags (#c:stones) and prefix wildcards as well as exact ids, and portal frame corners are no longer required to ignite a portal

Fixed

  • Fixed players being teleported to their bed on every login for up to 7 days after using a Death Recall Token outside exploration, dying in exploration, or leaving it by /tp or another mod
  • Fixed the Death Recall Token landing on the surface or Nether roof instead of at the actual death location
  • Fixed a frame-block duplication exploit: mod-built portals used the same block as the frame you paid to ignite, so mining them gave free copies of that material
  • Fixed exploration dimensions not inheriting the overworld world border when explorationBorderDiameter is -1

Removed

  • Removed the preventDiskSaves config option. Exploration dimensions now always save to disk, so builds and chest contents survive chunk unloads; resets are still controlled by persistenceMode. A leftover preventDiskSaves key in an existing config is dropped automatically
