What's new
Pactum 0.4
New: Non-Aggression Clause
- Players can now offer not to harm the other participant. The agreement can be one-sided or mutual.
- Compatible with item, experience, soul, and teleportation clauses.
- Blocks damage attributable to the bound player, including supported projectiles and owned entities.
- Attempting to attack the protected player applies Weakness. Stronger attacks can also inflict Wither.
- When combined with soul or teleportation clauses, protection remains active until all those obligations are fulfilled.
Contract Copies and Cancellation
- Non-aggression agreements without soul or teleportation obligations now give each participant a linked document: the original and a Signed Contract Copy.
- Destroying either document ends the agreement and turns the other into a Consumed Scroll.
- Bringing both documents under the same participant’s ownership allows cancellation without a penalty.
- Breaking the agreement without consent removes 3 maximum hearts, stacking down to a minimum of 1 heart, and applies Weakness 256 for 20 minutes.
- Lost hearts return upon death. The Weakness penalty survives death, cannot be removed with milk, and pauses while offline.
- Mixed contracts containing soul or teleportation clauses do not apply this destruction penalty.
Interface and Messages
- Active clauses now use green text instead of checkmarks, preventing longer button labels from overflowing.
- Gameplay notifications now appear in the action bar. Contract Table and command messages remain in chat.
- Shortened notifications and removed redundant messages triggered by the same event.
- Kept non-aggression wording on the parchment concise.
- Added English and Spanish translations for the new mechanics.
Visuals and Contract Delivery
- Updated the Blank Contract texture with a more vanilla-inspired design.
- Added a dedicated red texture for the Teleportation Orb.
- Teleportation contracts are now delivered to the player receiving the teleport uses.
- If a soul clause is included, delivery to the soul holder takes priority.
Compatibility
- Existing contracts remain readable and do not gain new clauses automatically.
- Client and server must both use the updated mod version.
- Non-aggression support for other mods depends on whether their damage identifies the responsible player.
