THE LISTENER — THE CONSUMED WORLD COMPLETE CHANGELOG From the first version provided (3.2.1) through 4.6.2 beta Minecraft Java 1.20.1 — Forge This changelog covers the additions, reworks, and fixes made since the first file was provided. The mechanics described here reflect the current version: temporary values and behaviors replaced during development are not presented as though they were still active. THE CONSUMED WORLD - The flesh dimension has been reworked with more varied terrain, caves, ruins, consumed structures, a refuge, and places to explore. - The story now follows a once-normal world overtaken by flesh spreading from its depths. Remnants of buildings and old paths reveal what used to stand there. - Added lakes and streams of red water to create blood water. This uses Minecraft water tinted by the biome, without a separate fluid or bucket. - The center now has a chamber containing a giant heart, membranes, and cores tied to campaign progression. - The journey to the heart is more difficult, with bends, detours, and changes in elevation. The direct path that gave away the destination has been removed. - Removed the barrel that appeared in place of the heart. - Added loot tables for ruins, the refuge, and locations along the journey. NEW BLOCKS Organic and structural blocks have been added to build out the dimension: - Living Cartilage, Scarred Flesh, World Bone, and Exposed Marrow. - Nerve Bundle, Rooted Tooth, Consumed Stone, and Rotten Beam. - Pulsing Tissue, Heart Membrane, Artery Node, and Heart Core. - Nest Gate, used to seal the Queen's arena. A temporary light block has also been added to make the lantern work. ORIGINAL CREATURES - Added dedicated entities for larvae, adult worms, giant worms, Nerve Watchers, Wandering Lungs, Aureliano, and the Queen. - The creatures now have their own models and animations, replacing the initial approach of disguising regular mobs. - Worms come in different sizes and have different behaviors; smaller worms also inhabit underground passages. - The giant worm is approximately 15 blocks long. It moves across the dimension's ground and leaps between patches of flesh, throwing up debris. - Its presence nearby causes camera shake. The reduced visual effects option also reduces this effect. - The worm checks for enough space for its body and its jump; beneath a low ceiling, it moves along the ground. - The Nerve Watcher is an eye supported by tendons that can blind players at close range. - The Wandering Lung leaps, breathes, and signals before unleashing its breath attack. - The Listener, Released Flesh, and Flesh Mother have had their models and animations reworked for a more threatening appearance. AURELIANO, MAPS, AND STORY - Aureliano — The Remnant now has his own body, animations, and entity. - He trades at the refuge: 6 rotten flesh for a filled map of the center and a compass. The first trade also includes his book. - Fixed map delivery. The trade can be repeated if the items are lost, and it does not take resources if payment or inventory space is missing. - The map marks the center and the refuge without solving the route for the player. - Added the Nest Compass: speak to Aureliano while crouching and pay 6 rotten flesh to receive it. - The Nest Compass shows direction, distance, coordinates, and route stages: the entrance, tunnel bends, gate, and throne. - Added a notice to guide returning players to the correct entrance. - Júlio's books have been revised to introduce the story and preserve its mystery, without serving as a guide to completing the mod. PULSE LANTERN AND NEW ITEMS - Added and fixed the Pulse Lantern, which provides actual level 12 light when held in either hand. The light follows the player and then goes out. - Using the lantern reports the current objective and highlights nearby creatures. - Added the Ventricle Shard to the heart's progression. - The Containment Needle must now be crafted, with a diamond in its recipe; it is no longer given away for free. - The main recipe uses 2 diamonds, 2 iron ingots, 1 redstone, and 1 stick. An alternative recipe uses a Ventricle Shard, a diamond, and iron. - Added two exclusive rewards with gameplay uses: the Pulsating Heart and the Royal Fang, obtained from the bosses. RELEASED FLESH: HUNTING BY SOUND - The creature released after destroying the heart is now truly blind. - It investigates the sounds of footsteps, running, jumping, mining, block placement, attacks, and impacts instead of tracking by sight. - Crouching allows silent footsteps; coming within 3.8 blocks reveals your presence even if you make no noise. - Projectile impacts can distract it. - Its pursuit and bursts of speed have been adjusted to make escape harder. - Walls block direct damage; it must reach the player. INFECTION AND CONTAINMENT - The infection now works in any dimension, including the Overworld, Nether, End, and enclosed spaces, without requiring an open sky. - It spreads faster and now consumes stone, logs, leaves, and other replaceable blocks. - Removed artificial limits on its radius and the total amount infected. - Fixed growth that spread almost entirely in a straight line: expansion now spreads in all six directions and follows loaded areas. - The flesh remains in the world when the player moves away; recovery requires completing containment and defeating the Flesh Mother. - Arteries are spread farther apart, with at least 64 blocks between them. - The current version requires 10 arteries; the Flesh Mother appears after the second one is contained. - Cauterization takes time: 10 seconds per vein and 12 seconds at the focus. Taking damage or moving away interrupts the procedure. - Progress and the history of altered blocks are saved. Restoration resumes when areas load again and preserves subsequent changes. - Worlds with the old 15-artery stage keep their progress when migrating to ten objectives; the surplus arteries are handled by restoration. - Expansion respects loaded chunks, settings, mobGriefing, and difficulty. Unbreakable blocks, portals, and containers are protected. FLESH MOTHER REWORK - The Flesh Mother already existed in the base version; her fight has been extensively reworked. - She is rooted in place again during attacks, with a persistent position. - She now has five attacks: a ground wave, marked roots, a frontal sweep, creature summons, and a ground rupture, all telegraphed before damage. - She summons creatures from the flesh world, with limits on living minions. - Her body grows larger and more grotesque across three phases based on her remaining health. Her collision size grows with her body. - She is now 2.3 times larger, reaching approximately 12.6, 14.9, and 18.2 blocks in height across her three phases. Her chamber has been enlarged to accommodate her. - When the player moves at least 28 blocks away, she can sink into the flesh, travel beneath the ground, and emerge in a safe location nearby. - Added a 12-second death sequence in which she collapses and is absorbed into the ground, accompanied by ending music. - Fixed boss bars accumulating when leaving and returning to her vicinity. WORM QUEEN AND NEST - Added a new boss: the Worm Queen, with 420 health. - She has a bone crown, mandibles, an egg-filled abdomen, and ten short legs. - Added a nest with a throne, eggs, burrowing marks, and wide tunnels associated with the passage of giant worms. - The Queen launches six larvae. Her carapace protects her while they live. - She then enters a vulnerable 12-second hunt with bites and charges, before returning to prepare another wave. - The gate closes when the fight begins and only opens after victory. It resists breaking, explosions, and pistons. - Players who die can return to the arena by interacting with the gate from the outside. - Fixed the nest passage failing to open in older terrain when the player was nearby, preventing players from searching for a blocked route. - In 4.6.2, the Queen gained her own 9-second death sequence: she staggers, opens her mandibles, folds her legs, collapses, and gives her final twitches. - She stops attacking during death; the music, animation, and state remain synchronized. The gate opens and drops are released only at the end. BOSS MUSIC - Added the Flesh Mother's original theme, Root Within, with arrangements for all three phases. It has been extended to approximately 3 minutes and 33 seconds per phase, with strings, brass, choir, and percussion. - The music follows the encounter and does not stop just because the player moves away. - The Queen has her own theme, Throne of the Swarm, lasting approximately 2 minutes and 29 seconds, with a different arrangement from the Mother's. - Added a 12-second coda for the Flesh Mother's death. - The Queen's encounter theme continues until her death sequence finishes. - Music volume follows Minecraft's Music setting. BOSS DROPS - Flesh Mother: Pulsating Heart, 6 diamonds, and 2 netherite scraps, in addition to the previous victory rewards. - The Pulsating Heart is reusable: Regeneration II for 8 seconds and Absorption I for 20 seconds, with a 60-second cooldown. - Queen: Royal Fang, 4 diamonds, and 1 netherite scrap. - The Royal Fang has 8 attack damage, 1.6 attack speed, and 2,031 durability; it applies Poison I for 4 seconds to susceptible creatures. - Rewards are granted only once per boss and respect doMobLoot. ADVANCEMENTS AND PROGRESSION Added 12 advancements for the journey through the Consumed World: The World Still Breathes; The Last Address; There Used to Be a Street Here; Blood on Your Boots; Something Moved Below; Hearing with Your Eyes; Beneath the Scar; The First Artery; No Way Back Without Blood; The Last Heartbeat; It Was Also a Prison; Not Everything Stayed Behind. They follow exploration, discoveries, and events throughout the campaign. COMPATIBILITY AND VALIDATION This update remains for Minecraft Java 1.20.1 with Forge. Replace the previous JAR; do not keep duplicate versions of the mod. The client and server must both use version 4.6.2. Code, resource, geometry, and integration tests have been performed; a complete validation playthrough in Forge is still pending. This is a beta.
