🩹 OuchKit v1.0a - January 22, 2026 — “Sharp Tools, Soft Fixes.”

> It made sense, so I built it. > (And then sharpened it.)

🔪 Let me see what you have: A Knife!!! (NO!!!!!!!!) - but actually yes!

  • Added the Survival Knife, a dedicated tool for removing bandages (and other knife stuff that single-use gadgets only dream of doing!)
  • Good for cutting wraps, medium bandages, and bandaids! ...Cutting bandaids seems a bit overkill.. but it's fun at least!
  • Exists alongside scissors — both are valid, intentional tools
  • Knife has its own identity, visuals, and behavior

🗡️ Modded Knife Compatibility

  • OuchKit now recognizes modded knives via common knife tags (e.g. c:tools/knife)
  • Compatibility is optional and non-required
  • Knives that support right-click “use” actions work automatically
  • Knives that don’t? No crashes, no errors — they just won’t cut (yet)

> If it can cut in-game and behaves like a held tool, OuchKit will try to respect it.

🔊 New Knife Cut Sound

  • Added a dedicated knife cutting sound
  • Plays only when a bandage is actually removed
  • No placeholder audio, no fake feedback — if you hear it, something got cut

👤 Major Rendering Upgrade: Per-Body-Part Overlay Inflation

  • Bandage overlays now inflate per body part, not from the model origin

    • Arms, legs, torso, and head scale independently
  • Prevents:

    • Floating bandages
    • Buried overlays
    • Offset artifacts on non-centered or custom-shaped models
  • Works correctly with:

    • Vanilla player models
    • Customizable Player Models (CPM)
    • Pehkui scaling (with recommended settings)

This was a big fix — overlays now sit where they’re supposed to, even on weird or asymmetrical models.

⚙️ Recommended CPM + Pehkui Setup

For best results:

  • CPM scaling method: attribute

  • OuchKit config:

    Force Vanilla-Scale Overlay = true

This keeps overlays visually correct without fighting the model’s scale.

🧠 Important Clarification (Intentional Behavior)

  • Cutting a bandage does not reopen a wound by itself
  • Wounds reopen when the player gets hurt again
  • This is intentional and considered realistic behavior

🐾 Final Notes

  • No gameplay rebalance in this version
  • No bleed math changes
  • No slot logic changes
  • Just sharper tools, cleaner visuals, and better compatibility

It made sense, so I updated it again!
