OreXP brings a smooth, vanilla-style way to convert mineral resources into experience with a dedicated keybind and immersive feedback.
New Features
- Added Consume Ore keybind (default: L, fully rebindable in Controls under OreXP)
- Added direct XP consumption for:
- All vanilla overworld ores
- All deepslate ore variants
- Nether ores
- Ancient Debris
- Raw materials (Raw Iron, Raw Gold, Raw Copper)
- Mineral items and ingots (Coal, Redstone, Lapis, Quartz, Diamond, Emerald, Iron/Gold/Copper Ingot, Netherite Scrap, Netherite Ingot)
- Added rarity-aware visual and audio feedback per material family
- Added immersive tooltip system with rarity styling and flavor text
Balance Update
- Full XP rebalance across all supported materials
- Quartz is the highest XP path
- Nether Quartz Ore: very high XP
- Quartz item: highest XP in the mod
- Netherite rewards are high, but intentionally below Quartz
- Coal remains low-yield
- Iron/Copper sit in low-to-medium range
- Diamond/Emerald are high-value rewards
Gameplay Behavior
- Consumption is now instant (no eat delay)
- Vanilla eat sound was removed per design update
- Pressing the key while holding a supported item consumes exactly 1 item and grants XP immediately
- Supports stack usage with repeated key presses (safe and responsive)
Compatibility & Stability
- Server-authoritative processing for multiplayer safety
- Anti-abuse protections:
- no creative XP abuse
- no null/air consume
- no desync double-award behavior
- slot/hand/item validation on consume
- Key input handling improved for better compatibility with larger modpacks and key conflict scenarios
Tooltips & Presentation
- Added polished English localization for:
- keybind category and name
- consume capability tooltips
- rarity/magical flavor lines
- Rare materials now feel more distinct without over-the-top effects
Technical Quality
- Clean NeoForge 1.21.1 architecture
- Client/server separation preserved
- Compiles cleanly with current project setup and Gradle wrapper
