OREBOUND Core 0.1.8

Modded Mining Tool Compatibility Update

OREBOUND Core 0.1.8 greatly expands compatibility between OREBOUND's Mining Power system and the mining tools provided by other mods.

Previously, many modded drills, pickaxes, paxels, hammers, and powered tools could mine normal Minecraft blocks but were treated as Mining Power 0 by OREBOUND.

That compatibility gap has now been addressed across the major mining tools included in the pack.

Immersive Engineering Mining Drill

The Immersive Engineering Mining Drill now receives Mining Power based on its installed Drill Head:

  • No Drill Head — Power 0
  • Iron Drill Head — Power 2
  • Steel Drill Head — Power 3

Tooltips now reflect the currently installed head and its resulting Mining Power.

PneumaticCraft Jackhammer

The PneumaticCraft Jackhammer now receives Mining Power based on its installed drill bit:

  • No Bit — Power 0
  • Iron Bit — Power 2
  • Compressed Iron Bit — Power 3
  • Diamond Bit — Power 4
  • Netherite Bit — Power 5

Industrial Foregoing Infinity Tools

The Infinity Drill and Infinity Hammer now scale with their current Infinity tier:

  • Poor — Power 1
  • Common — Power 2
  • Uncommon — Power 3
  • Rare — Power 4
  • Epic — Power 5
  • Legendary — Power 5
  • Artifact — Power 5

Expanded Modded Tool Support

OREBOUND Mining Power support has also been added for appropriate mining tools from:

  • Mekanism Tools
  • Mekanism
  • Actually Additions
  • Applied Energistics 2
  • Mystical Agriculture
  • Mystical Agradditions
  • Immersive Engineering
  • PneumaticCraft
  • Industrial Foregoing
  • Twilight Forest
  • Occultism
  • Draconic Evolution
  • ProjectE
  • Avaritia
  • Oritech
  • Cataclysm

This includes supported pickaxes, paxels, drills, powered mining tools, hammers, AIOT-style tools, and similar equipment.

Mekanism Tool Progression

Several commonly used Mekanism mining tools now have proper OREBOUND Mining Power.

Examples include:

  • Steel Pickaxe / Paxel — Power 3
  • Osmium Pickaxe / Paxel — Power 3
  • Refined Glowstone Pickaxe / Paxel — Power 4
  • Refined Obsidian Pickaxe / Paxel — Power 5
  • Atomic Disassembler — Power 5
  • Meka-Tool — Power 5

Progression Protection

Third-party mining tools are intentionally capped at:

Mining Power 5

No external tool can receive Mining Power 6.

Mining Power 6 remains reserved for OREBOUND's own late-game progression, including the:

  • Core Drill
  • Worldbreaker Drill

This prevents powerful tools from other mods from bypassing OREBOUND's intended Abyssal and endgame progression.

Tooltip Improvements

Supported dynamic mining tools now show additional information explaining where their Mining Power comes from.

Examples include:

  • installed Drill Head
  • installed Jackhammer Bit
  • Infinity Tool tier
  • external-tool Mining Power cap

Documentation Updates

OREBOUND's Field Manual and equipment guidance have been updated to explain modded Mining Power compatibility.
