Description
Orbitalis
The sky is no longer the limit.
Orbitalis brings space exploration and orbital mechanics to Minecraft, turning familiar blocky worlds into celestial bodies you can leave, orbit, and explore from space.
Build spacecraft, navigate gravitational fields, explore the Moon, and experience spaceflight where velocity, momentum, and orbital trajectories actually matter.
Features
Explore Beyond Your World
- Finite planetary worlds with real boundaries, allowing you to fly above, around, and even beneath them.
- Space exploration with a shared orbital environment connecting celestial bodies.
- The Moon, featuring its own terrain, gravity, and orbital motion.
- Planetary visuals including terrain relief, clouds, atmospheric glow, and distant celestial bodies.
Physics-Based Spaceflight
- Orbital mechanics with gravitational interactions and numerical trajectory simulation.
- Dynamic celestial bodies with orbital motion and planetary rotation.
- Physical spacecraft powered by Sable, featuring mass, inertia, momentum, and collision physics.
- Persistent orbital motion, allowing spacecraft to continue their trajectories even when unloaded.
Navigation & Exploration
- Interactive orbital map displaying celestial bodies, spacecraft, and their trajectories.
- Trajectory prediction to help understand and plan orbital flights.
- Maneuver planning for navigating through space.
- Configurable planetary scale, with world sizes and corresponding orbital parameters selected during world creation.
Compatibility
Orbitalis is built around Minecraft's existing world mechanics, preserving ordinary blocks, terrain generation, and interactions with other mods.
Sable provides the physics foundation for movable spacecraft and constructions.
Orbitalis can also be used alongside Create, Aeronautics, and Create Propulsion: Simulated, allowing players to experiment with powered spacecraft. Dedicated automation and autopilot integrations are still in development.
Voxy can enhance terrain visibility in the Overworld with long-distance LOD rendering. It is optional and is not required by Orbitalis.
Development Status
Orbitalis is an experimental project under active development. Its spaceflight mechanics, planetary systems, and rendering are continuing to evolve.
Some features are still being refined, including transitions between planetary surfaces and space. New worlds are recommended during early development.
