Ofon's Enchantments — Beta Update
Minecraft 1.21.1 · NeoForge
This update introduces new capstone abilities, a dedicated Enchantment Settings interface, and additional movement and utility features. The mod is still a work in progress, with more enchantments, settings, and refinements planned for future updates.
New features
Enchantment Settings interface
A new Enchantment Settings screen lets players customize special enchantment abilities directly from their inventory.
- Access the menu through a purple enchanted-gear button in the Survival inventory.
- An optional keybind is available and unbound by default.
- The interface uses a clear, non-blurred background and supports multiple setting rows.
- Controls appear only when the player is holding or wearing an eligible special-capstone item.
- Settings are saved to the individual item and validated by the server.
- Ordinary enchantment levels continue to behave normally, without unnecessary settings.
Wind Burst IV
Wind Burst IV unlocks a customizable launch-power selector for the mace. The real enchantment remains IV while the player chooses an effective launch setting.
| Launch power | Approximate height target |
|---|---|
| I | 7 blocks |
| II | 14 blocks |
| III | 21 blocks |
| IV | 42 blocks |
The menu displays the corresponding block values for each setting. These are approximate launch-height targets rather than guaranteed heights in every situation.
Fortify
Wind Burst IV also unlocks Fortify, a separate defensive setting that can be switched On or Off.
- Fortify is enabled by default.
- A genuine successful smash refreshes absorption to a minimum of three hearts.
- Repeated grants do not stack indefinitely, and larger existing absorption is not reduced.
- Turning Fortify Off prevents new grants without removing absorption already present.
- Launch power and Fortify can be configured independently.
Soul Speed IV
Soul Speed IV gains a capstone-only effective-level selector.
- Choose Off, I, II, III, or IV.
- The selected setting uses the corresponding enchantment-level movement bonuses rather than a percentage slider.
- The actual enchantment remains IV, and settings persist on each pair of boots.
- Ordinary Soul Speed I–III retains its normal behavior and does not unlock the menu.
Depth Strider IV — boat speed
Depth Strider IV now grants 50% more forward-paddle acceleration in water when the player wearing the enchanted boots is controlling the boat.
The bonus is automatic and requires no toggle. It does not apply to ordinary Depth Strider I–III, passengers, or non-water movement. It does not repeatedly multiply accumulated boat velocity.
Feather Falling V
Feather Falling V adds a new utility bonus alongside its extended fall protection.
- Provides 60% fall-damage reduction before Minecraft's shared protection cap.
- Prevents the wearer from trampling farmland when landing on it.
- Ordinary Feather Falling I–IV remains unchanged.
Progression and compatibility
Special capstone enchantments retain their intended Ancient Tome and Illager Invasion Imbuing Table progression, while ordinary enchanting keeps its normal level ceilings. Existing optional integrations and previously released enchantment features remain part of the mod.
Work in progress
Ofon's Enchantments is actively being developed. Some features are still being refined, and additional enchantment bonuses, customization options, and quality-of-life improvements are planned. The goal is to expand Minecraft's enchantment progression while keeping ordinary enchantments familiar and making special capstones feel rewarding.
More updates are on the way.
