No Explosion Grief is a lightweight, server-side Fabric mod for Minecraft 1.21.1. It lets server admins decide, for each explosion source and each dimension, whether explosions can destroy terrain. No client install is needed.
HOW IT WORKS
When an explosion is blocked, it still happens: entities take damage and get knocked back as usual. It just doesn't break any blocks or start any fires.
Use /grief-explosion <source|all> <dimension|all> <true|false> (alias /noeg, operators only):
- true lets the explosion destroy terrain, as in vanilla.
- false protects the terrain.
EXAMPLES
- /grief-explosion creeper minecraft:overworld false
Stops creeper holes in the Overworld.
- /grief-explosion bed minecraft:the_nether false
Lets beds explode in the Nether without damaging the terrain.
- /grief-explosion all all false
Protects every dimension from every explosion.
SUPPORTED SOURCES
creeper, tnt, tnt_minecart, ghast_fireball, wither, wither_skull, end_crystal, bed, respawn_anchor, and other (explosions from other mods or commands).
OTHER COMMANDS
- /grief-explosion list [dimension]: shows the current rules.
- /grief-explosion reload: reloads the config file.
Dimensions added by other mods are supported automatically. Rules are saved in config/no-explosion-grief.json and persist across restarts.
By default, creepers, TNT and TNT minecarts are blocked in the Overworld. Everything else follows vanilla behavior.
