No Chat Indicator
No Chat Indicator is a lightweight, client-side mod for Minecraft Forge 1.20.1 that removes the chat trust/verification indicator Mojang added in the 1.19.1 update.
What it does
Since the 1.19.1 update, Minecraft displays a small icon to the left of chat messages as part of its chat reporting and message-verification system. This mod hides that icon completely, giving you a clean chat window that looks the way it did before 1.19.1.
Features
- Removes the chat indicator icon — the verification/trust stamp shown to the left of chat messages is no longer drawn.
- Clean chat window — your chat returns to its pre-1.19.1 appearance, with messages and nothing else cluttering the left margin.
- Client-side only — works on any server (vanilla, modded, or realms) without the server needing the mod, because the change is purely visual on your end.
- Lightweight and safe — it only cancels the rendering of the indicator. It does not touch chat itself, message content, message signing, or the reporting system in any other way.
- Zero configuration — install it and the indicator is gone. There is nothing to set up.
How it affects your experience
- Your chat looks cleaner and less cluttered, with no extra icons distracting you from the actual messages.
- The familiar pre-1.19.1 chat appearance is restored, which many players find more comfortable and less intrusive.
- Because it is client-side, you get this clean look on every world and server you join, without affecting anyone else.
Requirements
- Minecraft 1.20.1
- Minecraft Forge 47.x
This mod is purely cosmetic. It hides a visual element only and does not modify, bypass, or disable chat reporting, message signing, or any server-side functionality.
