Ninjacat Skies Core 0.5.17 - Opposing Suns
Curse Maven Snippet
What's new
Ninjacat Skies Core 0.5.17
Two suns, five moons and short nights. Existing saves load as they are; no ids change.
- Two opposing suns. The Hearth, a great gold sun, rises in the east as it always has; the Lantern, a smaller blue-white sun, rises in the west at the same moment and crosses the sky against it. They pass side by side at noon and set on opposite horizons.
- Short nights. Under two suns the night is short: from dusk to dawn the clock runs at double speed, so night takes half as long as day. It follows the daylight cycle gamerule, and server owners can turn it off with
shortNightsin the sleep section of the Core config. - Five moons at their own distances. Nearest first: the Skein, huge and wound in lilac and cream like a ball of yarn; the Rime, an ice moon inside a thin ring, which keeps the old moon's place and phases so everything that waits for a full moon still does; the Hollow, void-black with a violet fire round its rim; the Cinder, small and crimson under grey ash; and the Glint, a far white-gold spark. Nearer moons are larger and cross the sky faster, each on its own tilted path, each lit from the side the suns are on, and a moon that crosses a sun eclipses it.
- A lighter sky. The painted Overworld sky is now built once on the graphics card instead of every frame, so it costs less to draw than before, moons and all.
