The Braid Cord is priced in Strand Filaments and gated on nothing else. Existing saves load as they are; no ids change, and nothing already seated or earned is touched.

A braid needs a Post, and sixteen filaments

Spinning a Braid Cord used to require two of Clock, Swarm or Spark seated at your Tension Post. A Strand token is the reward at the end of a whole Strand chapter, so that put the Cord — and the Thread of Return built around it — most of the way through the pack, behind the players least likely to have a spare life to fall back on.

• Hold 16 Strand Filaments, right-click a Tension Post, take a Braid Cord. No Strand has to be seated.
• The filaments come from the stack in hand, and a Post short of the price takes nothing and says how many more it wants.
• Filaments come out of a sieve — gravel, sand or dust through an iron Thread Mesh — so the cost is work rather than a wall.
• Nothing else about the Post changes: Strand tokens still seat the same way, the Spindle Loom Fragment still wants all nine Strands seated and a March stone, and seating the Fragment is still the Reweave.

The Codex, the starter book, the quest text and the Strand Filament tooltip all say the new rule.

Note for pack authors: a Thread of Return is four Thread Shards around the Cord, and what a Shard costs is still the pack's decision. If your Shard recipe is gated behind something later than the Post, the life is still gated behind that.
