- Night and cave-based spawning behavior
- Stalking-style AI where the creature can observe, follow, and pressure the player before attacking
- Chase escalation behavior when the player gets too close or looks at the entity
- Vanish/despawn behavior to make encounters feel unpredictable
- Spawn egg support for creative testing
- Config-ready structure for future tuning
- CurseForge-ready documentation, changelog, and free MIT license
How These Features Affect the User’s Experience
The mod is designed to make Minecraft feel more tense and frightening without completely changing the core survival experience.
Instead of adding only a basic hostile mob, the Nightmare Stalker creates a horror atmosphere by making the player feel watched. Its stalking behavior, rare appearances, dark visual design, and sudden chase moments are meant to build suspense over time.
The creature’s cave and night spawning makes normally familiar parts of Minecraft feel more dangerous. Exploring caves, traveling at night, or being alone in dark areas becomes more stressful because the player may encounter the Nightmare Stalker unexpectedly.
The custom model and animations improve immersion by making the mob feel different from standard Minecraft enemies. The long arms, glowing face, hunched posture, claws, exposed ribs, and horror-themed movement help create a scarier visual experience.
The vanish and escalation mechanics keep encounters from feeling predictable. Players may see the entity watching from a distance, lose sight of it, and then encounter it again later. This makes the experience more psychological and suspense-based rather than just another combat encounter.
Overall, the project adds a free horror survival experience for Forge players who want Minecraft to feel darker, scarier, and more unpredictable while still fitting into normal survival gameplay.
