What's new

Nexulvorrath

You are not being hunted. You are being remembered.

Nexulvorrath is a slow-burn psychological horror mod. Not jumpscares. Not chases every night. Something worse: an entity that watches how you play, remembers what you do, and slowly starts responding to it.

What it does

The mod adds one entity to your world. It doesn't appear on your first night. It doesn't attack the first time you see it. It observes.

Over time, it builds a picture of you — where you sleep, where you mine, what direction you always run when things go wrong, what you say in chat, what you break, what you leave alone. Weeks in, small things start happening you can't explain. A block appears somewhere you've been a hundred times. A message you don't remember triggering. A cave sound that plays a little louder than it should, in a place you'd almost forgotten.

By the time you realise it's been watching, it's already made decisions about you.

Design principles

  • No jumpscares. Silence and wrongness do the work.
  • Rare events. The entity might attack 3–8 times in an entire year of play.
  • It never kills you. Health floor of 2 hearts. The chase ends, you survive, nothing is explained.
  • Long timelines. Some events fire after weeks of real time. Some markers appear when you're offline.
  • Multiplayer aware. In multiplayer it focuses on one main target but notices others. Your friend might hear things you don't.

What you'll actually experience

  • Occasional sightings that stop when you look
  • Dark, silent blocks appearing at meaningful locations — places you've abandoned, places you frequent, places you almost died
  • A file layer in your world save (nexulvorrath/) with the entity's own memory, observations, and interpretations of you
  • Rare messages that comment on patterns in your behaviour, not individual actions
  • Structures placed far from your base, built by past players who tried and failed
  • Diaries. Different writers. Different theories about what this thing is. All incomplete.

What NOT to expect

  • Constant action — the mod is quiet by design
  • Guaranteed encounters — the entity decides when to appear, and it decides slowly
  • Explanations — it never explains itself, and neither should the mod
  • A boss fight — there isn't one

Recommended playstyle

Play Minecraft normally. Build a base. Do your projects. Live in the world. The mod runs in the background and reacts to your patterns. Trying to "find" or "test" the entity mostly does nothing — it's designed against that behaviour. The interesting things happen when you stop looking for them.

Give it days. Give it a week. If you're the kind of player who reads books left in strange places, checks weird chests, and screenshots things that seem wrong — this is for you.

Version support

  • Minecraft: Java Edition 1.21.1
  • Loader: Forge
  • Environment: Client and server

Feedback

This is the first public release. If something breaks, feels wrong, or fires too often — I want to know. Discord: https://discord.gg/3tVArjqpT

Fabric port planned for later. New tiers, new structures, and new observation systems in development.

You won't always know if it was there.
