What's new

Item pipes (new)

The mod's own (IC2 did not have them): they carry items between machines and chests without hoppers.

Block Speed Recipe
Bronze Item Pipe 5 items per second 6 bronze casings and 3 glass (makes 8)
Steel Item Pipe 20 items per second 6 steel casings and 3 glass (makes 8)
Item Port as fast as the pipes allow a hopper surrounded by 4 bronze casings
  • They connect on their own to other pipes and to anything with an inventory (chests, barrels, hoppers, machines).
  • They do not pull: items are pushed in by a machine with the ejector upgrade, an Item Port or a hopper. They go straight to an inventory on the network; if nothing accepts them, they stay where they were. Nothing is lost.
  • They take turns among the inventories that accept the item, so several machines in parallel all work. They never send an item back to whoever pushed it.
  • Speed: on a path mixing bronze and steel, the bronze rules.
  • Painter: pipes of different colours do not connect (an unpainted one joins any), so two lines can run side by side without mixing. A painted pipe shows a coloured ring.
  • Construction foam: it covers them like cables and they keep working. Once hardened, the Painter paints the foam; breaking it by hand removes the foam and leaves the pipe.
  • Items can be seen travelling through the glass stripe (only a drawing: the item has already arrived).
  • Item Port: when placed it faces the block you clicked on; it takes from there (from a machine, only its outputs) and pushes into the pipes on its other sides. A redstone signal stops it.

Tanks

  • They push their fluid through their bottom face into whatever is attached and accepts it: a pipe, a machine or another tank, up to 1000 mB per tick. A lava tank brought from the Nether and placed on top of the Geothermal Generator feeds it by itself. In IC2 tanks do not push.
  • They are cheap: they remember what is below them and, if nothing fits, wait half a second before trying again.

Macerator

  • Raw ores (iron, gold, copper, tin and lead) give 1 dust directly; they used to give 2 crushed ores. The ore block still gives 2 crushed ores.
