Description
Nencraft
Awaken your Nen. Take the Hunter Exam. Climb the Heavens Arena.
Nencraft is a large Hunter x Hunter adventure mod for Minecraft 1.21.1 (Forge). It covers the whole Nen system, from opening your aura nodes to developing your own Hatsu, and the series' most loved arcs as playable content: the road to the exam, the Hunter Exam itself, the Heavens Arena all the way to the Battle Olympia, Yorknew City with its Underground Auction, the Mafia and the Phantom Troupe, and Whale Island, where Gon grew up.
Beta (0.2.0). New in this version: the rest of the Yorknew arc (Mafia bounties, Shadow Beasts, the auction raid, joining the Troupe, the hideout and heists) and Whale Island. Singleplayer has been tested end to end and dedicated servers start and accept players, but some multiplayer features (player-vs-player arena queues and title bouts) haven't been played by real groups yet. Please report anything that breaks!
✦ Nen
- Awakening. Train under Wing at the Heavens Arena and have your aura nodes forced open. In multiplayer, an awakened player can do it to you the canon way: a sneaking Ren strike.
- Water divination. Your Nen type stays hidden until the ritual at the Divination Glass. Enhancer, Transmuter, Emitter, Conjurer, Manipulator or Specialist: the leaf, the water and the colour tell you which.
- The techniques. Ten, Zetsu, Ren, Gyo, Ko, Ken, Shu, En and In, each with its own look and effect. Ren pushes on the world around you: a burst on activation, ground dust, camera shake, mobs flinching. Ko pulls your whole aura into one blazing fist, and En spreads a sphere that lets you feel everything inside it.
- Your aura, your colour. Pick your aura colour once at awakening, with a full colour wheel and a live preview. It's permanent, so choose well.
- Hatsu. Develop one permanent Hatsu, the way a real Nen user does. Every type has its abilities, and you can learn one outside your type, but your affinity decides how strong it is. 12 canon abilities: Jajanken, Godspeed, Bungee Gum, Hundred-Type Guanyin Bodhisattva, Chain Jail, Emperor Time, Warp Punch, Crazy Slots, Deep Purple, Skill Hunter, Black Voice and Double Machine Gun.
- Vows and limitations. Bind yourself to a vow for more power, and pay dearly if you break it.
- Impact frames. The biggest finishers freeze the moment and redraw it as animated manga panels: ink, flashes, negative and duotone prints.
✦ Bloodlines
Roll the family whose blood runs in your veins: Zoldyck, Kurta, Hui Guo Rou (legendary), Freecss, Netero (epic), Meteor City, Krueger, Paladiknight (rare) and Nostrade or No Clan. Each one gives noticeable but fair lore perks; the Kurta can see their Scarlet Eyes burn. You get a free roll plus spins, and you earn more by passing the Hunter Exam and growing your aura.
✦ The road to the Hunter Exam
Every new player receives an exam application with a rough map.
- The Kiriko. Find their cabin in the woods, answer the old woman's trick question, then chase her shapeshifting son through the forest. Fail, and you can come back the next day.
- The flight. Pass, and a Kiriko carries you through the sky to Zaban City.
- Zaban City. A big walled city generated in every world, with avenues, shops and traders, townsfolk and examinees gathering. Find the steak restaurant, order the right meal ("steak combo, grilled on low heat"…) and ride the elevator down.
✦ The Hunter Exam
All the canon phases, in their own exam dimension, alone or with other players:
- Satotz's marathon and the Numere Wetlands
- Cooking: Buhara's roast pork, Menchi's sushi, and the eggs of Mount Split-in-Half
- Trick Tower: Majority Rule, the Solitude trap and more
- Zevil Island: hunt your target's badge across seven days
- The final tournament: Netero's interview and the "give up" bouts
The exam is hardcore: you can die, and then you have to wait a week to retake it. Pass and you get the Hunter License, which is soulbound. It unlocks faster Nen training, lifts the unlicensed aura limit, opens the full Hatsu system, gives you discounts and opens the door to the higher floors of the Heavens Arena.
✦ The Heavens Arena
A full-height tower rises over every world. Walk through its doors, register at the reception and start climbing.
- Real fights, real climb. Deathmatch bouts in rings packed with crowds, a live announcer and prize money in Jenny. Win dominantly to jump floors.
- Canon opponents. Zushi, Gido, Riehlvelt, Sadaso and Kastro, each with a full boss moveset. Also the "welcome" on the 200th floor, and Hisoka, waiting in the corridor to test you with his Ren.
- The 200 Class. Register fights on the fight board, get called to the ring at noon on fight day, and earn permanent aura growth. You get your own room with a bed, storage, a meditation mat and a trophy shelf.
- Floor Masters. Five original masters guard floors 230–250, each with their own Hatsu: the Bell Monk, the Haze Dancer, the Gatekeeper, the Smith and the Clockmaker. Beat one to take their floor, then defend it.
- Battle Olympia. Every 20 in-game days, the masters meet in an 8-fighter bracket on the 251st floor.
- Arena shop. Spend your Jenny on gear, outfits and unique items.
✦ Yorknew City
A huge modern city, bigger than Zaban, generated once in every world. It has skyscrapers, hotels, Mafia mansions on the hill, a market street and a wasteland edge, with people in the streets day and night. Buy a Yorknew Map from the Zaban bookseller (6 emeralds), or use /locate.
- Market street. Stalls selling food, gear and antiques.
- Pawnbroker. By the market arch: sell gems, gold and other valuables for Jenny.
- The Cemetery Building. The Underground Auction is held in the cellars beneath it.
The Underground Auction
- Entry. You need a Hunter License and awakened Nen. Your ticket is that night's Catalogue, bought from the auction clerk for 1,000,000 Jenny (the same wallet as the Heavens Arena). The catalogue also lists every lot.
- When. One night every 10 in-game days (days 5, 15, 25…). Doors open in the evening and bidding starts at dusk.
- Live bidding. Each lot goes up on the stage pedestal. You bid with the raise buttons; the timer resets with every bid, until "going once… going twice… SOLD." You bid against NPC collectors with real budgets and against other players, and you have to be in the hall to bid.
- The lots. Strong gear, vanilla valuables and Nen boosts (aura elixirs, clan tokens, Hatsu scrolls). Each night ends with a canon treasure: the Scarlet Eyes, a copy of Greed Island, or Benz's poisoned knife.
- Sell your own items. Consign up to 4 items with the clerk (10,000 Jenny minimum). The house takes 10%, and anything unsold comes back to you.
The Phantom Troupe
All 13 Spiders are full boss fights with their canon abilities, built as detailed anime-proportioned 3D models at their canon heights. Each one gets a boss bar, voice lines and hints on how to counter them.
- Chrollo (No. 0). Bandit's Secret turns between stolen abilities: Sun and Moon stamps, Indoor Fish, Order Stamp bombers and Benz's knife. He can steal your Hatsu and seal your Nen.
- Nobunaga (1). Step into his iai En circle and he cuts you.
- Feitan (2). Blinks around you; hurt him enough and Pain Packer raises the Rising Sun.
- Machi (3). Near-invisible threads (use Gyo!), a snare that reels you in, and stitching her own wounds.
- Hisoka (4). His Heavens Arena moveset.
- Phinks (5). The Ripper Cyclotron: interrupt the wind-up or take a ten-turn punch.
- Shalnark (6). Antenna mind control (crouch to pull it out), wired-up puppets and Auto Pilot.
- Franklin (7). Double Machine Gun sweeps: hide behind cover or get behind him.
- Shizuku (8). Blinky sucks up your arrows and drags you towards its mouth.
- Pakunoda (9). Reads your memories, then fires Memory Bombs.
- Bonolenov (10). The Battle Cantabile dance, then Jupiter drops from the sky.
- Uvogin (11). Big Bang Impact, the Howl and an unbreakable Ken.
- Kortopi (12). Copies your weapon, rains copied blocks and cages you in copied walls.
The fights take place out in the world and are to the death. Players nearby get drawn in, and the game remembers which Spiders you've beaten. You meet them through Mafia bounties, at night in Yorknew's streets, and in the auction raid.
The Mafia and the Shadow Beasts
- The Ten Dons' board. The Mafia's contact waits in a mansion garden on Mafia Hill (license and Nen required). Take a bounty on a Spider, follow the clue trail through Yorknew (informants, traces only Gyo reveals, a hideout at the end), win the fight, then claim the Jenny and a boost to your aura.
- Climb the ranks. From Outsider to the Dons' Hand. Each rank unlocks bigger bounties (Chrollo comes last), shop discounts, a free auction catalogue and an escort, and each rank-up is a duel against a Shadow Beast: Porcupine, Leech, Mosquito, Centipede and finally Owl, each with their own Hatsu.
- Night encounters. Now and then a Spider turns up in Yorknew's streets at night. You get a warning first, and you can run.
- The auction raid. On some nights the lights go out mid-auction and the Troupe storms the hall. Fight them off alongside the Shadow Beasts for a big Mafia reward, or lose the rest of the night's lots.
Joining the Phantom Troupe
- One Troupe per world, 13 seats. NPCs hold the empty ones. Beat an NPC Spider and Chrollo offers you their number. Once a player is Head (#0), joining is by their invitation.
- The spider tattoo. It shows on your arm, and each seat gives a buff themed on the member you replaced.
- The Troupe screen (J). Shows the 13 seats, who's online and the Troupe chat. The Head can invite, kick and pass on #0. A seat goes back to its NPC after 7 days offline.
- The Mafia turns on you. Guards and Shadow Beasts attack on sight in Yorknew, and other players can take bounties on you. Leave the Troupe and your old standing comes back.
- The hideout and heists. The ruin on the edge of Yorknew has an orders board, a shared vault, a locker for each seat and Spiders hanging around. Heists: a Mafia mansion vault, the Cemetery Building's exhibition, a lot from the auction stage and a Mafia convoy. Go quiet (Zetsu past the guards' sight for a 1.5× payout) or loud (alarms, a Shadow Beast, reinforcements on a timer). Grab the loot and get out; the crew splits the take, and a tenth goes to the Troupe's vault.
✦ Whale Island
Gon's home, generated once in every world far out at sea and shaped like the whale it's named after. Buy the Sea Chart to Whale Island from the Zaban bookseller (8 emeralds) or use /locate, then sail there yourself.
- The harbour town. White houses with red roofs climbing the hillside, a market plaza, the tavern and the pier Gon sailed from. Fishermen, shopkeepers and villagers all have something to say about Gon, their prodigy who went off to take the Hunter Exam.
- Mito's house. Mito Freecss and Gon's great-grandmother live on the hill, with the kitchen, the garden and Gon's room upstairs.
- The forest. Gon's giant old tree, and Kon the fox-bear cub at his den.
- The Master of the Swamp. The huge fish Gon caught before Mito would let him go. Cast Gon's rod into the swamp (Mito lends you his spare) and fight it: hold Sneak to reel in while it's tired, ease off while it thrashes and leaps or the line snaps, and don't let the line go slack while it runs.
- The reward. Land it and you get the mounted trophy, the whole village throws a feast on the harbour with fireworks, and Mito gives you The Master's Rod with her blessing.
✦ Gear
- New materials: Aurite ore (it glows through rock when you use Gyo), Zoldyck Steel and Hunter Cloth from the Tailor's Loom.
- Outfits with set bonuses, shown as 3D models on your character: Gon, Killua, Kurapika, Leorio, the Hunter Association suit, the Heavens Arena gi and the Zoldyck butler suit.
- Weapons: Killua's yo-yos, Gon's fishing rod, Kurapika's bokken, Leorio's switchblade, Illumi's needles, Hanzo's blade and the Hunter's Knife, each with its own attacks and effects.
- Nen gear, worn in its own slots: weighted training clothes, aura-conducting gloves, Gyo lenses and the Vow Charm.
