Description

Nat's backrooms is a backrooms mod with an extensive creative menu of high quality textured blocks and a planned assortment of many more.

Updates are regular; there is a roadmap and large creative menu to explore.

There is no generation of levels. The mod has a creative menu of:

  • Level 0 "Tutorial Level"
  • Manila Rooms
  • Level "The Hub"

There are many more level-based blocks planned in the future, but there is a lot to play around with even without.

  • Roadmap as of 25/01/2026:
  • Many more level-based blocks (prioritising Levels 1, 37 & 2).
  • Pre-generated world of levels.
  • Outpost-based blocks (MEG, A-SYNC style).
  • A full modpack that I have used thus far to test the mod!

 

These planned features will be implemented by update 1.0.0. However, the main goal of the mod, adding a full creative menu of custom blocks, is the number one priority.

As of 26/01/26, here is the near-term roadmap, with updates you can expect in the near future (in 2026 - Early 2027 at the latest);

Levels

  • Level 1 "Habitable Zone"
  • Level 4 "Abandoned Office"
  • Level 2 "Abandoned Utility Halls" (TBD, may be further in the future for OBJ models)
  • Level 178 "Kyoto Dreams"
  • Level 11 "The City That Never Sleeps" (Also TBD, this will be a larger scale project)
  • Level 37 "Sublimity"
  • Level 54 "Stairwell of Spirals"
  • Level 10 "Bumper Crop"
  • Level 5 "Terror Hotel"

All of these levels will be constructed in the world and I will share screenshots to emphasise what every level should look like using the blocks. Or don't - let your imagination guide the way!

Want to see the entrances and exits to the levels for the future map? Spoiler alert if you wish to play the world in the future. Use as guidance if you're stuck. v

  1. Level 0 (This is where you start, the following levels will be in order)
  2. Level 1 (Accessed by travelling far enough in Level 0)
  3. The Hub (It is anticipated that this will be the first encounter of The Hub if you didn't find it in both entrances in Level 0.)
  4. Level 178 (This will be the only route until Level 11 can be confirmed)
  5. Level 10 (Caused by travelling through a rice field adjacent to the house)
  6. Level 4 (Caused by entering an abandoned building then trying to leave (This has merged Levels 10 and 184 together.))
  7. Level 5 (Caused by walking through a door in Level 4.)
  8. Level 54 (Caused by going through an unlocked door to enter the staircase.)
  9. Level 37 (Caused by finding a small pool of water on a floor of Level 54 and swimming through it.)

 

Bear in mind that any of these levels can be entered if you have found an access key to it along the way. I will not spoil it.

Level 37 is intended to be the placeholder last level until Version 1.2.0 or 1.3.0, for it will take time to plan an ending to THE SAGA.

Items

Special items for the backrooms will also be progressively added, such as Almond Water and other items that can come in handy along the way. Be on the lookout!

Footnotes 

It is anticipated that no entities will be added in the near future. I am primarily working on the levels first and then I will move to other sorts soon after. Other things listed in the wikidot, such as phenomena, could be added but only in the world you create, and the world released in the future modpack.

Until I learn how to create mobs, entities are in the long-term.

Also please bear in mind I'm setting myself a challenge to create this, for the people who truly enjoy the element of exploration in the backrooms like myself are the designated audience. Even if I get only 100 downloads for the nature of this mod (boring, I get it), at least I'll have something to be proud of and for the audience to explore.
