Nations of the Overworld — Major Update 1.1.0
This major update greatly expands warfare, population management, politics, construction, and nation development.
Army and Generals
•
Added recruitable generals with unique names.
•
Generals gain experience, level up, and unlock selectable perks.
•
Added regular artillery, effective against infantry and buildings.
•
Added anti-tank guns specialized in destroying armored targets.
•
Improved army movement, formations, navigation, bridge construction, and obstacle handling.
•
Fixed inconsistent firing behavior for artillery and anti-tank units.
•
Removed helmets from medieval knights.
Supply and Combat Readiness
•
Army supply no longer reduces marching speed.
•
Armies now move toward their targets at normal speed.
•
Supply determines combat readiness, ranging from 40% to 100%.
•
Low readiness reduces weapon damage and increases reload time.
•
Food, materials, weapons, armor, vehicle parts, army size, and travel distance affect supply requirements.
•
Logistics technologies and general perks reduce supply requirements.
•
Combat readiness is now displayed in the nation dashboard.
Wounded Citizens and Medicine
•
Critically wounded citizens collapse to the ground instead of immediately dying.
•
Soldiers and generals ignore wounded enemies.
•
Civilian medics carry wounded citizens to operational hospitals.
•
Hospitals gradually restore wounded citizens to health.
•
Added the “No Quarter” military law, allowing troops to finish wounded enemies at the cost of stability and public support.
•
Damaged or destroyed hospitals cannot treat patients.
Government and Leadership
•
Leadership can be transferred to another online player with /nation transfer <player>.
•
Nations can have multiple rulers.
•
The maximum number of rulers depends on the selected government:
◦
Parliament: 5 rulers
◦
Republic: 3 rulers
◦
Monarchy: 2 rulers
◦
Council: 6 rulers
◦
Theocracy: 2 rulers
◦
Dictatorship: 1 ruler
•
Governments with a ruler limit lower than the current ruler count cannot be selected.
•
Leader and co-ruler statues can be built with name plaques.
Demographics and Housing
•
Added a complete demographic system.
•
Citizens can be children, young adults, adults, or elders.
•
Children grow up over time.
•
Population growth depends on housing, food, schools, and available workforce.
•
Added three housing tiers:
◦
Regular House: 2 residents
◦
Large House: 5 residents
◦
Town Manor: 9 residents
•
Larger homes use unique structures and require more resources and construction time.
•
Fixed housing capacity being counted twice.
Buildings and Structural Damage
•
Added hospitals, large houses, and town manors.
•
Buildings now track their physical condition.
•
At 30% damage, a building becomes inactive.
•
Inactive farms, factories, barracks, hospitals, warehouses, and other structures stop providing their effects.
•
Assigned builders automatically repair damaged buildings using stored materials.
•
At 70% damage, a building becomes an irreparable ruin and is removed from the nation’s active building count.
•
Rebuilding at the same location replaces the ruined structure.
Roads, Tunnels, and Defenses
•
Automatically generated roads now place streetlights.
•
Direction signs are placed at road junctions.
•
Roads crossing mountains create illuminated stone tunnels.
•
Improved road direction, lamp placement, and tunnel orientation.
•
Added upgradeable defensive walls:
◦
Wooden Wall
◦
Stone Wall
◦
Iron-Bar Wall
•
Wall upgrades now correctly replace the previous wall tier.
