Mythic Upgrades 5.0.0 Changelog

This major update introduces a complete overhaul to Mythic Upgrades, improving compatibility with large modpacks, rebalancing gear progression, and adding exciting new world generation features.

General & Mechanics Changes

  • Armor Set Bonus Overhaul: Full armor sets are no longer required to gain effects. Helmets and Boots now grant 2 levels of an effect, while Chestplates and Leggings grant 3 levels.
  • Potion System: Potions now match vanilla mechanics. They can be brewed in standard brewing stands, upgraded for power/duration, and crafted into splash or lingering variants.
  • Visual Updates: Refreshed color palettes and trim colors. Mythic Crystal Shards can now be used as armor trim materials.
  • Unified Smithing Templates: All separate templates have been united into the Mythic Upgrade Smithing Template.
    • Can be found in End City chests.
    • Crafting recipe: 1 Netherite Template + 1 Necoium Block + 7 Necoium Ingots.
    • Note: Old templates will automatically convert to the new one.

World Generation & Decorative Blocks

  • Gemstone Biomes: Every gemstone now features its own rare biome where its respective ores exclusively generate.
    • Geodes are more common in these biomes and include budding crystal blocks.
    • Necoium spawns more frequently in these areas.
    • Overworld: Aquamarine Caves, Citrine Caves, Peridot Caves, Topaz Caves.
    • Nether: Ruby Rifts, Sapphire Rifts.
    • The End: Ametrine Barrens, Jade Barrens.
  • New Blocks: Added Crystal Bricks, Pillars, Cut Pillars, and Polished Blocks. All new types support Stairs, Slabs, and Walls.
  • Gemstone Schist: New Schist blocks (including polished variants) available for Stairs, Slabs, and Walls.

Gear & Effect Reworks

Ruby

  • Tools: Reworked to grant life steal (30% of damage dealt) and grant half a heart on interaction.
  • Armor: Grants Blood Thirst, stealing life from any nearby combat, even if you are not directly dealing damage.

Topaz

  • Tools: Emits Topaz Waves that damage and knock back enemies on every third interaction.
  • Armor: Grants Topaz Reaction, releasing topaz waves whenever you hit enemies or take damage (including fall damage).

Citrine (New Gemstone)

  • Tools: Creates Charge Chains that damage up to 3 entities and inflicts the Charged status effect, causing enemies to summon lightning upon death.
  • Armor: Provides Static Field, creating a sphere that constantly damages nearby entities.

Peridot

  • Tools: Applies Lethal Incubation, causing defeated enemies to emit Miasma Waves. (Miasma triggers poison waves every 10 seconds).
  • Armor: Grants the Miasma effect directly to the wearer.

Jade

  • Tools: Old bouncer effect removed. Now grants Jade Aura V on interaction, increasing speed/jump boost and leaving a trail that benefits followers.

Aquamarine

  • Tools: Applies Ice Bomb, causing defeated enemies to explode into a freezing wave.

Sapphire

  • Tools: Deals bonus damage equal to 5% of the target's max health (capped at +15 damage).
  • Armor: Damage Deflection deflects 5% of incoming damage per level (up to a maximum of 50%).

Ametrine

  • Tools: Inflicts Levitation III (1s) with a 5% chance to teleport targets.
  • Armor: Arcane Aura emits levitation waves upon taking or dealing hits.

Necoium

  • Ore: Now spawns as a common ore in the Overworld.
  • New Food Item: Necoium Carrot (Crafted with a regular/golden carrot and necoium ingots). Grants Necoium Share, creating a radius that shares mythic effects with nearby players.

Removed Features

  • Spelunker Effect: Removed due to Ruby armor underperforming in PvP/PvE. (Will return in a future update).
  • Item Mastery Effect: Removed based on community feedback.
