Mystical Agriculture Improvements

Insanium gear one step above Mystical Agriculture's best tier: tools, armor, furnace, seed reprocessor, growth accelerator, and a tinkering table with a third augment slot. Requires Mystical Agriculture, Mystical Agradditions and Cucumber on both sides.

You already have the insanium

You finished the Awakening Altar, you have stacks of insanium essence, ingots and gemstones from Mystical Agradditions, and the only thing they are good for is tier 6 crops. Your pickaxe is still the same one you crafted before you got there.

This mod spends that insanium. It adds a full gear and machine tier above the top of Mystical Agriculture's ladder, built on Mystical Agradditions' insanium materials, and it slots into the same creative tabs, the same tinkering table and the same tooltips, so it reads as part of the same pack rather than as an add-on bolted on the side.

It needs Mystical Agriculture, Mystical Agradditions and Cucumber, and it needs them on the server too. Everything it adds is server-side logic; a vanilla or client-only server will not run it.

What you get

Gear — sword, pickaxe, shovel, axe, hoe, staff, bow, crossbow, paxel, watering can, helmet, chestplate, leggings and boots. Unbreakable, mining level 6, and tinkerable tier 6 with two augment slots instead of one.

A third augment slot, unlocked by the Augment Expansion enchantment. It is not in the enchanting table, not in loot and not from villagers: the only source is an enchanted book from Mystical Agriculture's Infusion Altar (a book in the center, 4 insanium ingot blocks, 2 nether stars and 2 insanium gemstone blocks on the pedestals). Applying it on an anvil always costs 39 levels. If an item ever loses the enchantment, the augment sitting in its third slot is handed back to you rather than deleted.

The Insanium Tinkering Table, shaped like Mystical Agriculture's and with all three augment slots visible. Mystical Agriculture's own table still handles the first two, so you only need this one for the third.

Machines — Insanium Furnace, Insanium Seed Reprocessor and Insanium Growth Accelerator (range 72 blocks, against 60 for supremium).

Molten Insanium, a fluid and bucket that match Mystical Agradditions' other molten metals. The bucket has no survival recipe; it exists for the creative tab and for other mods to pick up.

Numbers

Everything is measured against the best tier Mystical Agriculture itself ships on that version: supremium on 1.18.2, awakened supremium on 1.19.2 and 1.20.1. The tier to beat is in parentheses.

1.18.2 1.19.2 and 1.20.1
Mining speed 64 (25) 64 (30)
Attack damage +27 (+20) +32 (+25)
Enchantability 22 (20) 24 (22)
Bow and crossbow draw 2.05 (1.8) 2.4 (2.1)
Armor durability x560 (x280) x640 (x320)
Armor toughness 5.0 (3.0) 5.0 (3.5)
Knockback resistance 0.15 (0) 0.15 (0.1)
Furnace cook time 0.5% of normal (2.5%) 0.2% (0.5%)
Furnace fuel efficiency 16x a vanilla furnace (8x) 25x (20x)
Reprocessor 1 tick/op, 860k FE buffer (5 ticks, 640k) 1 tick/op, 2.56M FE buffer (1 tick, 1.28M)
Watering can 15x15, 50% (11x11, 45%) 15x15, 55% (13x13, 50%)

Mining speed 64 is the point where stone-hardness blocks break in a single tick, with no delay before the next block. Deepslate joins them with Efficiency V.

Armor points, helmet / chestplate / leggings / boots:

Insanium Tier below
1.18.2 7 / 11 / 9 / 7 6 / 10 / 8 / 5
1.19.2 9 / 13 / 11 / 8 8 / 12 / 10 / 6
1.20.1 7 / 13 / 11 / 10 6 / 12 / 10 / 8

The helmet and boots values swap between 1.19.2 and 1.20.1 because Mystical Agriculture's own armor arrays do; insanium keeps the same margin over it on every piece.

Recipes

Every upgrade goes through the same shape: the item you are upgrading in the center, insanium ingots either side, and insanium gemstones top and bottom. A supremium gemstone will not do it.

The upgrade keeps the item's augments and enchantments. On 1.19.2 and 1.20.1 the input is the awakened supremium version of the item, not the supremium one, so the tier Mystical Agriculture added in 6.x is still a step you walk through rather than one you skip.

Machines take the equivalent Mystical Agriculture machine plus insanium ingots, a gemstone and an insanium block. The tinkering table takes Mystical Agriculture's table, insanium ingot blocks and gemstones. The growth accelerator is made from insanium essence, stone and a gemstone, three at a time.

Where everything shows up

Items are inserted into Mystical Agriculture's own creative tab immediately after their counterparts, in Mystical Agriculture's order, rather than dumped at the end. The paxel and the molten insanium bucket go in Mystical Agradditions' tab next to theirs. Tooltips match the style of the mods they extend: a "Tier: 6" line in Mystical Agradditions' tier-6 purple, and an "Added By: Mystical Agriculture Improvements" line so it is always clear which mod an item came from.

Like Mystical Agriculture's own staffs, the insanium staff is not listed in any tab. It is craftable and it works; it is simply hidden, the same way its counterpart is.

What it does not do

  • No insanium scythe, sickle, shears or fishing rod. Mystical Agriculture added those four tool types in 6.x, after this mod's content was designed around the 1.18.2 set.
  • The insanium reprocessor does not out-speed awakened supremium on 1.19.2 and 1.20.1. Awakened supremium already runs at one operation per tick, which is the floor: nothing can be faster without processing several items per tick, which would be a new mechanic rather than a higher number. The insanium one matches that speed and wins on buffer size and on energy per fuel item instead.
  • The extra armor points matter less than the table suggests. Vanilla clamps the armor attribute at 30 and the damage formula caps effective armor at 20, so a full insanium set is already past both ceilings. The real gain over the tier below is toughness and knockback resistance.
  • No new crops, seeds or essences. Mystical Agradditions already covers tier 6 crops.
  • No JEI or Jade integration beyond what Mystical Agriculture already provides for its own tiers.

Compatibility

No mixins and no coremods. The mod hooks Forge's own events and extends Mystical Agriculture's public item classes, so it does not patch anybody else's code. It uses one access transformer, on vanilla's AbstractFurnaceBlockEntity, to reuse the furnace's own cooking loop instead of copying it.

Because it extends Mystical Agriculture's classes directly, it is tied to the Mystical Agriculture major version it was built against: 5.x on 1.18.2, 6.x on 1.19.2 and 7.x on 1.20.1.

Source and license

MIT. Textures are recolored from Mystical Agriculture and Mystical Agradditions by BlakeBr0, also MIT, and the furnace and reprocessor logic is adapted from Mystical Agriculture.
