My Music Box is a Minecraft mod that allows you to add custom music into the game as music discs. This mod can automatically download music from YouTube, Spotify, SoundCloud, Facebook, and 1000+ other platforms directly to your server using a single simple command!

🚀 Installation

Step 1: Install the mod

Download the mod .jar file
Place it into the mods/ folder of your server/client
Start Minecraft

Step 2: Install yt-dlp (required for download features)

Windows

winget install yt-dlp

Linux (Ubuntu/Debian)

sudo apt update
sudo apt install yt-dlp

Linux (CentOS/RHEL/Fedora)

sudo dnf install yt-dlp

macOS

brew install yt-dlp

Verify installation

yt-dlp --version

⚙️ Configuration

Config file: config/mymusicbox-common.toml

Explanation:

creeperDropChance
- Chance for Creepers to drop a custom music disc upon death
- 0.05 = 5% = 1 out of 20 Creepers
- Randomly selects 1 disc from all loaded discs
chestLootChance
- Chance for music discs to appear in dungeon/mineshaft/etc chests
- 0.1 = 10% = 1 out of 10 chests
- Randomly selects 1 disc from all loaded discs
musicScanInterval
- Time interval between scans of the mymusic folder
- Scanning is only for detecting new files, it does NOT load them into the game
- New files are only loaded after restarting the server
- Set to 0 to completely disable (saves resources)
