Music Curator

Choose which vanilla music can play, set how often, and see the current track in a HUD.

Music Curator

Client-side mod for Minecraft 26.2. Choose which vanilla music tracks are allowed to play, set how often they play, and see the current track in a small HUD.

No custom audio, no streaming, no servers — it only filters and controls the music already in the game.

What it does

  • Pick exactly which vanilla ambient tracks can play, with checkboxes grouped by category (overworld, nether, end, menu…).
  • Built-in cumulative presets, from "C418 only" up to "everything".
  • Set the delay between tracks (min/max), or override the vanilla timing entirely.
  • A compact HUD showing the current track, with optional composer and category.
  • Skip, pause/resume, and toggle the HUD with keybinds or commands.

Why not just use another music mod?

Music Curator filters the game's own music selection instead of replacing it. It does not take over Minecraft's music system, so it stays out of the way of other mods that add or change music.

Presets

Each version preset is cumulative — it keeps everything from the steps before it.

Preset Tracks
All vanilla Every ambient track
C418 only Tracks composed by C418 (plus his discs)
+ Nether Update (1.16) C418 + 1.16
+ Caves & Cliffs (1.18) previous + 1.18
+ The Wild Update (1.19) previous + 1.19
+ 1.20 / 1.21 / 26.x previous + everything newer

Picking a preset overwrites your selection. Toggling individual tracks switches the preset to Custom.

How to use

Open the settings via Mod Menu → Music Curator → Config, or use the commands:

  • /musiccurator skip
  • /musiccurator hud toggle
  • /musiccurator preset <all|c418|nether|caves|wild|latest>

Keybinds for skip, pause/resume, and HUD toggle are unbound by default — set them in Options → Controls.

Requirements

  • Minecraft 26.2 (Fabric)
  • Fabric Loader 0.19.3+
  • Fabric API
  • Cloth Config (required, for the settings screen)
  • Mod Menu (optional, adds the config button)

Notes

Only ambient (situational) music goes through the game's music manager, so that's what the mod controls. Jukebox discs are listed for the presets but aren't affected in-game.
