# Mushroom Hammer

Mushroom Hammer is a lightweight combat mod for Minecraft Forge 1.20.1. It adds a unique red mushroom hammer that converts the player's airborne movement into directional impact power.

The hammer is designed for jumping attacks, falling strikes, fast horizontal movement and diagonal aerial combat.

## Main Features

- Adds one new weapon: the Mushroom Hammer.
- 8 attack damage.
- 0.9 attack speed, similar to an iron axe.
- 325 durability.
- Special impact mechanics activate while the attacker is airborne.
- No required dependencies.
- Works in singleplayer and multiplayer.
- Must be installed on both the client and the server.

## Aerial Impact Mechanics

The Mushroom Hammer calculates the attack direction and strength from the movement of the attacker.

### Vertical Impact

When the attacker is falling, the vertical impact strength is equal to 25% of the traveled fall distance.

After a successful strike:

- The attacker bounces upward.
- The target is forced downward.
- The attacker's accumulated fall damage is reset.

If the target is already standing on a solid block, it receives damage as if it had fallen from the calculated impact height.

If the target is airborne, it is pushed downward and receives normal Minecraft fall damage when it reaches the ground.

Vanilla fall cushioning remains functional. Water, slime blocks, hay bales, beds and other blocks or mechanics that reduce fall damage can still reduce the calculated impact damage.

### Horizontal Impact

Horizontal power is equal to 25% of the attacker's movement speed in blocks per second.

- The target is knocked away from the point of impact.
- The attacker rebounds backward against their movement direction.

### Diagonal Impact

When the attacker moves both horizontally and vertically, the impact is divided proportionally between both directions.

A perfectly diagonal strike uses an equal 50/50 balance between the vertical and horizontal calculations.

## Enchantments

Minecraft 1.20.1 does not contain the vanilla mace, so the mod adds its own Forge 1.20.1 versions of three mace-style enchantments.

### Density I–V

Adds additional damage based on the effective fall distance of the strike.

### Breach I–IV

Reduces the practical effectiveness of the target's armor.

### Wind Burst I–III

Increases the upward rebound of the attacker after a successful aerial strike.

The Mushroom Hammer also supports:

- Smite
- Bane of Arthropods
- Fire Aspect
- Unbreaking
- Mending
- Curse of Vanishing

## Crafting Recipe

The hammer is crafted in the shape of a pickaxe:

- Three red mushrooms across the top row.
- One stick in the center.
- One stick below it.

## Installation

1. Install Minecraft Forge for Minecraft 1.20.1.
2. Place the Mushroom Hammer JAR file into the `mods` folder.
3. Install the same mod version on the server when playing multiplayer.
4. Start the game.
