Changelog

1.1.0 - Tasks, Loot, Cook Job, And Job Hats

This update consolidates the task streak, loot, cook-job, balance, XP, hat, and Curios updates added after 1.0.0.

Added

  • Added consecutive task streaks per job, including current streak and best streak tracking.
  • Added task streak bonus rewards every 10 completed tasks, with stronger milestone rewards at 50100150200, and 250 streaks.
  • Added task streak reward notifications in chat and above the hotbar.
  • Added a dedicated Serie button in the Jobs menu so streak information is no longer mixed into the Task tooltip.
  • Added the OP-only admin command /jobscompletetask <player> <job> [count] to complete one or many tasks quickly for testing.
  • Added configurable task loot via config/jobsmod-task-loot.json.
  • Added a global task loot table so every job can roll rewards from the same configurable reward pool.
  • Added task loot rarities, including super_legendary at 0.1%.
  • Added minecraft:netherite_upgrade_smithing_template as a super legendary task reward.
  • Added item bonus rarity display in task tooltips, new-task messages, and reward notifications.
  • Added streak-based loot chance boosts for Rare, Epic, and Legendary task item rewards.
  • Added the Cuisinier job with craft, smelting, Farmer's Delight recipe, and Cooking Pot rewards.
  • Added cook task templates for vanilla food, Farmer's Delight prep, soups, snacks, pasta, desserts, and feasts.
  • Added job hats for every job, using the models and textures from multijobs_hat.
  • Added an automatic level 50 hat reward tied to each job.
  • Added a level 50 job hat teaser to the main Jobs panel for every job.
  • Added a matching job hat XP bonus: wearing a job hat grants x1.5 XP for that same job.
  • Added optional Curios compatibility for job hats.
  • Job hats can now be equipped in the Curios head slot.
  • The matching job hat XP bonus now works from either the vanilla helmet slot or the Curios head slot.

Changed

  • Doubled XP rewards for every job reward while keeping money rewards unchanged.
  • Doubled XP rewards generated by new job tasks.
  • Added a one-time reward config migration so existing jobsmod-rewards.json files receive the XP rebalance only once.
  • Task bonus type is now rolled when the task is assigned, not when it is completed.
  • A task now clearly has either a money bonus or an item bonus for its whole lifetime.
  • Task completion bonuses are exclusive: a task can grant bonus money or bonus items, never both.
  • Task bonus money is divided by 3.
  • Task bonus text is now cyan in task tooltips and reward notifications.
  • Item bonus rarity names now use rarity colors: Common white, Uncommon green, Rare blue, Epic purple, Legendary orange, and Super Legendary black.
  • Consecutive task streaks now improve Rare, Epic, and Legendary item bonus chances when a new task is assigned.
  • Legendary and Super Legendary task loot can roll only from 10 consecutive tasks onward.
  • Super Legendary chance remains fixed at 0.1%.
  • jobsmod-task-loot.json now rewrites to the global table format.
  • /jobsreloadconfig now reloads the task loot table config too.
  • Craft and smelting rewards now route to the matching job, so blacksmith rewards stay forge-only while food rewards go to cook.
  • Crafted food rewards now scale with the crafted stack size.
  • Cook job money rewards are reduced by half from their first draft values.
  • Builder placement rewards no longer have a cooldown.
  • Improved Task and Serie button readability with white text on active colored states.
  • Simplified the Serie tooltip to show current streak, best streak, and a short explanation.
  • Updated exported job hat models from the latest multijobs_hat Blockbench files.
  • Improved job hat tooltips to explain the level 50 unlock and the matching-job XP bonus.

Fixed

  • Fixed job hat model UVs so hat textures render correctly in Minecraft.
  • Fixed job hats not visually rendering when equipped in the Curios head slot.
  • Removed invisible Blockbench reference-head cubes from exported hat models.
  • Fixed task bonus money display so it appears as Bonus: +$ instead of being merged into the base XP reward line.
  • Fixed random item bonuses suppressing the money fallback stored on tasks.
  • Fixed old tasks with missing money bonus so they still fall back to the expected money reward.
  • Removed the confusing 20% / 80% wording from task tooltips.
  • Existing default cook reward values in jobsmod-rewards.json now migrate to the reduced money values on load/reload.

1.0.0 - Tasks, Builder, And Compatibility Update

This update consolidates the major changes added after 0.7.0.

Added

  • Added the new Builder job.
  • Added Builder rewards for placing decorative blocks, with intentionally low rewards.
  • Added Builder support for vanilla slabs, stairs, walls, doors, trapdoors, signs, banners, beds, flower pots, decorated pots, paintings, item frames, and glow item frames.
  • Added optional Builder support for decorative blocks from Create, Create Deco, and Design n Decor.
  • Added a full randomized task system for every job.
  • Added the Task button in the Jobs menu, including active task display, task progress, reroll confirmation, and completion rewards.
  • Added level-based task difficulty, varied task objectives, recent-task avoidance, and optional item rewards.
  • Added more explicit task descriptions so players can better understand what each task requires.
  • Added task support for mining, woodcutting, farming, building, hunting, fishing, breeding, milking, shearing, crafting, smelting, smithing, repairing, gathering, and capturing.
  • Added optional Fisherman rewards and tasks for Stardew Fishing loot, while excluding bobbers from reward lists.
  • Added optional Farmer support for more Farmer's Delight crops and right-click harvest behavior.
  • Added Breeder rewards and tasks for honey bottles, honeycombs, Sea Bunny slime bottles, and Critters & Companions bucket captures.
  • Added explicit Breeder reproduction rewards and tasks for Critters & Companions ferrets, otters, and red pandas.
  • Added configurable placinggathering, and capturing reward sections to jobsmod-rewards.json.
  • Added cooldown information to reward tooltips when an action has a configured reward cooldown.

Changed

  • Rebalanced default reward values across jobs.
  • Reorganized reward lists so items appear in a more logical order inside reward screens.
  • Rebalanced default job rewards so Miner is no longer economically superior to every other job.
  • Reduced high-value mining payouts while improving slower or more costly jobs such as Woodcutter, Farmer, Fisherman, Breeder, Hunter, and Blacksmith.
  • Applied a stronger money rebalance: Breeder rewards are now much higher, Woodcutter and Fisherman payouts are significantly increased, and Farmer payouts gained a small flat bonus.
  • Miner payouts were left unchanged after the previous rebalance pass.
  • Existing jobsmod-rewards.json files now migrate old default values to the new balance when those values were not customized.
  • Enlarged and adjusted the Jobs reward UI to better handle dense reward categories.
  • Improved reward view spacing, bottom job tabs, page navigation, and confirmation overlays.
  • Shortened reward screen subtitles to prevent long category lists from overflowing outside the UI.
  • Blacksmith smelting rewards now scale with the number of smelted items.
  • Breeder kill rewards are now limited to adult resource animals instead of every breedable mob.
  • Honey bottle and honeycomb rewards now only trigger from vanilla bee hives and bee nests.
  • Task progress now advances only after the related job action passes its normal reward checks.

Fixed

  • Fixed job progression being lost when a player dies and respawns.
  • Fixed right-click harvest handling for crops that replant or do not fully break the block.
  • Fixed sugar cane reward handling with placed-block protection.
  • Fixed fishing task progression and expanded Fisherman task variety.
  • Fixed task rerolls repeating the same objectives too often.
  • Fixed job icons and underlying button text rendering above the task confirmation panel.
  • Fixed several reward UI overlaps caused by larger reward categories.
  • Fixed some Farmer's Delight crop display and harvest handling issues.

Anti-Abuse

  • Improved placed-block protection so players cannot place and immediately break blocks for rewards.
  • Added Silk Touch protection for configured mining rewards.
  • Added cooldown protection for sensitive interactions such as milking, shearing, and honey collection.
  • Added server-side validation so task progress only comes from actions performed by the player.

Notes

  • Built for Minecraft 1.21.1 on NeoForge.
  • The mod must be installed on both client and server.
  • Optional integrations only apply when the matching mods are installed.
