↩️ Multi-Line Messages
Use \n inside your message to start a new line.
For example:
/motd set Welcome back!\nToday's Updates:\n- Added new blocks\n- Updated spawn\n\nHave fun!
Players will see:
Welcome back!
Today's Updates:
- Added new blocks
- Updated spawn
Have fun!
⏱️ Rejoin Interval
By default, a player must be offline for 60 minutes before the MOTD will be displayed to them again.
This prevents players who disconnect and quickly reconnect from being repeatedly shown the same message.
Change the interval with:
/motd interval <minutes>
For example:
/motd interval 120
requires the player to have been offline for at least 2 hours.
To show the MOTD on every login, use:
/motd interval 0
Rejoin timers are kept in memory and reset when the server restarts. This means players will receive the MOTD on their first login after a server restart.
⚙️ Configuration
MOTD automatically creates its configuration file when the server starts:
config/motd.json
Example:
{
"enabled": true,
"intervalMinutes": 60,
"message": "Welcome to the server!"
}
Settings are automatically updated when you use the in-game commands, so you normally don't need to edit this file manually.
