More+
More+ expands Minecraft’s progression by giving overlooked materials a reason to leave the storage chest.
Rather than making every new tool strictly better than the last, More+ gives materials their own stats, traits, mechanics, and niches — creating more ways to progress, specialize, and experiment.
Humble Beginnings — v1.0
It started simple:
- Sod Toolset — Dirt finally fights back. An extremely cheap early-game toolset crafted from Sod Blocks.
- Bamboo Toolset — A renewable alternative for early-game tools.
Both include a Sword, Axe, Pickaxe, Shovel, and Hoe.
Stone Expansion — v1.1
Minecraft has a lot of rocks. Now they're useful.
Added complete toolsets for:
Andesite • Granite • Diorite • Calcite • Tuff
v1.1 also introduced Tool Traits, giving certain materials abilities beyond their raw stats.
Calcite — Brittle Precision
Faster, more precise tools at the cost of durability. Grants +15% attack speed to Swords, +15% mining speed to Axes, Pickaxes, and Shovels, and +15% durability to Hoes.
Tuff — Rugged
Built to last. Every Tuff tool has a 15% chance to ignore durability loss.
Into the Deep — v1.2
More+ heads underground — and underwater.
New toolsets:
Basalt • Deepslate • Prismarine
Each brings a new trait designed around where the material comes from: Volcanic, Deep Delver, and Aquatic.
But 1.2 goes much deeper than tools.
Deep Agriculture transforms the Deep Dark into a place that can actually be cultivated, introducing Cultivated Sculk, Hushgrowth, Hushwood, Veilcaps, Deepvines, and an entire chain of strange new underground resources.
Aquatic Alchemy introduces a new progression system centered around the Geode Bench, Alchemical Salt, and Prismatic Crucible. Discover Alchemy Lessons, perform transformations, gain mastery, and uncover increasingly powerful knowledge hidden within the world's Guardians.
Four disciplines are currently usable:
Prima Materia • Separation • Conjunction • Metallic Principles
And there are whispers of four more…
Hushwood Expansion and Soulcraft - 1.2.5
The Deep Dark continues to grow.
Hushwood receives a complete woodset expansion, introducing Stairs, Slabs, Fences, Fence Gates, Buttons, Pressure Plates, Trapdoors, and Doors.
But Hushwood isn't ordinary wood.
v1.2.5 introduces Soulcraft, a new mechanic that converts spiritual energy into usable mechanical energy.
Through Alchemy, players can extract Soul Residue from Soul Sand using Separation, then combine it with Amethyst Shards through Conjunction to create Anima.
Anima — The Spark of Life
Use Anima to Awaken Hushwood, transforming its appearance and causing it to emit light. Awakened Hushwood produces light level 8, making it useful for atmospheric building and decoration.
Soulbound Mechanisms
Hushwood Buttons, Pressure Plates, Trapdoors, and Doors remain dormant until awakened with Anima. Once awakened, they can interact with players and Redstone normally.
Hushwood trees have also become more common in the Deep Dark.
And this is only the beginning of Soulcraft. Its true potential will be explored in 1.3 — Hellforged.
What's Next?
More+ is nowhere near finished.
Future updates will venture into the Nether, experiment with Redstone technology, uncover increasingly arcane materials, add more toolsets and specialized crafting systems, and eventually bring More+'s material philosophy to armor.
Minecraft has plenty of materials. More+ intends to make them matter.
