SMITHERY SOURCE-AVAILABLE LICENSE
Version 1.1 (2026)
Copyright (c) 2026 YoItSoul
This license governs the use of the accompanying software, including its
source code, compiled artifacts, assets, and documentation (collectively,
the "Software"). By accessing, viewing, copying, modifying, contributing
to, or otherwise using the Software, you ("You") agree to be bound by the
terms set out below. If You do not agree, You must not use the Software.
This license is intentionally contributor-friendly. Standard collaborative
workflows — forking on GitHub or another Git hosting service, branching,
modifying, opening pull requests, discussing changes, and keeping your
fork up to date — are all expressly permitted. What is NOT permitted is
distributing the Software (or any version derived from it) to end users
outside of the upstream project.
1. GRANT OF RIGHTS
1.1. Viewing. You may view the source code of the Software in any
repository in which the copyright holder ("Licensor") has made it
publicly available.
1.2. Forking and Modification. You may create one or more forks of the
Software — including public forks on Git hosting services such as
GitHub, GitLab, Codeberg, or similar — and modify the Software in
those forks for the purposes of:
(a) preparing contributions to be submitted back to the upstream
repository,
(b) experimentation, research, and learning,
(c) personal evaluation, or
(d) any other development activity that does not result in
distribution to end users.
There is no time limit on how long Your fork may exist, and no
requirement that every commit produce a pull request. Maintaining
a public fork as part of the standard Git workflow is expressly
permitted and encouraged.
1.3. Pull Requests and Patches. You may submit pull requests, patches,
suggestions, issue reports, and other contributions to the upstream
repository through any channel made available by the Licensor.
1.4. Private Use. You may build, compile, install, and run the Software
(or Your fork of it) on devices You personally own or control, for
Your own use during development, experimentation, or evaluation.
2. RESTRICTIONS
2.1. No End-User Distribution. You may not publish, host for download,
broadcast, sell, lease, rent, or otherwise make the Software (or
any version derived from it) available to end users for use,
whether for free or for consideration. The fork-for-development
activities in Section 1.2 are not "distribution to end users" and
are not restricted by this Section.
2.2. No Repackaging. You may not include the Software, or any compiled
artifact derived from it, in any modpack, asset pack, distribution
bundle, software collection, launcher, or similar aggregation
intended for use by third parties.
2.3. No Competing Releases. You may not release or promote a fork as a
standalone product for end-user use, even with attribution. Forks
are a development workflow under this License, not a publishing
channel.
2.4. No Sublicensing. You may not sublicense the Software, or grant
rights in it to third parties beyond those granted by this License.
2.5. No Removal of Notices. You may not remove, alter, or obscure any
copyright, license, or attribution notices contained in the
Software. Your fork must keep this License file intact.
3. CONTRIBUTIONS
3.1. By submitting any contribution (including but not limited to code,
assets, documentation, bug reports, design proposals, or pull
request commits) to a repository designated by the Licensor, You
irrevocably grant the Licensor a perpetual, worldwide,
non-exclusive, royalty-free, fully paid-up, transferable, and
sublicensable license to use, reproduce, modify, adapt, prepare
derivative works of, publicly display, publicly perform,
sublicense, and distribute Your contribution as part of the
Software, under this License or under any other license the
Licensor chooses.
3.2. You retain ownership of Your contribution. The license in
Section 3.1 is in addition to Your retained rights, not a
transfer of them.
3.3. You represent and warrant that You have all rights necessary to
grant the license in Section 3.1, and that Your contribution does
not knowingly infringe the rights of any third party.
3.4. Contributions, once merged, become part of the Software and are
thereafter governed by this License for all subsequent uses.
4. RESERVATION OF RIGHTS
All rights not expressly granted to You under this License are reserved
by the Licensor.
5. TERMINATION
Your rights under Sections 1.2 through 1.4 terminate automatically and
without notice upon any material breach of Sections 2.1 through 2.5.
Upon termination, You must immediately cease distribution and destroy
any materials You distributed in violation of this License. The right
to view the source code (Section 1.1) and the contribution license
granted to the Licensor (Section 3.1) survive termination.
6. WARRANTY DISCLAIMER
THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED "AS IS", WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS
OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE WARRANTIES OF
MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, TITLE, AND
NONINFRINGEMENT.
7. LIMITATION OF LIABILITY
IN NO EVENT SHALL THE LICENSOR BE LIABLE FOR ANY CLAIM, DAMAGES, OR
OTHER LIABILITY — WHETHER IN AN ACTION OF CONTRACT, TORT, OR OTHERWISE
— ARISING FROM, OUT OF, OR IN CONNECTION WITH THE SOFTWARE OR THE USE
OR OTHER DEALINGS IN THE SOFTWARE.
8. SEVERABILITY
If any provision of this License is held to be unenforceable, the
remaining provisions shall remain in full force and effect.
9. ENTIRE AGREEMENT
This License constitutes the entire agreement between You and the
Licensor concerning the Software and supersedes any prior agreements
on the same subject.
