Forge your mortal shell, awaken your qi, and walk the path from flesh and bone toward immortality. Astral Pet Taming layers a full character-progression system on top of vanilla survival — every player rolls a unique destiny, tempers their body through real gameplay, and breaks through realm by realm toward true cultivation.

## Roll Your Destiny

The moment you join a world, fate deals your hand: a **Race** (Human, Demon Descendant, Beast Kin, Spirit Touched, Ancient Blood), a **Physique** grade from Frail to Heavenly Vessel, a **Spiritual Root** that decides your qi-gathering potential, and three independent **Talents** — Qi Affinity, Muscle Density, and Soul Resonance — each graded F through Divine. Rare **innate traits** like Thick Meridians or Photographic Memory can set you apart from the start. A detailed, hoverable **Character Sheet** (press **K**) shows exactly what every stat means and what it's currently doing for you.

## Temper Your Body

Before qi can be touched, the mortal body must be forged. Seven stages — Skin Tempering, Muscle Refining, Bone Transformation, Nerve Awakening, Blood Refinement, Organ Purification, and Qi Sensing — are earned through the actions you'd already be doing: taking hits, mining, fighting, sprinting, eating, meditating. Tempering pills accelerate the process, and they come in **six quality grades** from Low to Divine — the top two don't just temper faster, they permanently reforge your body with a unique trait (Heavenly, Celestial, or Void), chosen by you.

Only the first three stages are required to ascend; the rest are optional power for those who want to go further.

## Open Your Sea of Qi

Once your body can withstand it, a Cultivation Manual lets you open your Sea of Qi and begin the **Qi Gathering** realm — four named stages (Sea of Qi, Sea of Qi Expansion, Qi Purification, Platform Creation), each demanding more accumulated qi and rewarding greater power. Meditate to gather ambient qi or burn Spirit Stones for an instant boost, then attempt a **breakthrough** when your qi sea is full — succeed and ascend, fail and suffer qi deviation.

Low, Middle, and High Grade Spirit Stones, tempering pills of every quality, and Cultivation Manuals are woven into loot tables across the world — every chest you crack open is a chance at your next step forward. Spirit Ore veins run through the overworld's stone, ready to be mined for their crystallized qi.

## Built to Be Configured

Nearly every number that matters — chest loot chances and item lists, Qi Gathering breakthrough thresholds, realm stat bonuses — lives in a server config file, not hardcoded. Server owners can retune the entire progression curve without touching a datapack.
