What it does?

MobSpawnerEggLoot turns spawn eggs from a creative-mode-only item into a core part of survival gameplay. Instead of being locked behind commands or creative inventory, spawn eggs are now something you discover, collect, hunt for, and use — all without leaving survival mode.

How It Changes Gameplay

From the moment you start looting structure chests, you'll find spawn eggs mixed into the rewards. Crack open a dungeon chest and you might find a Zombie or Skeleton egg alongside the usual loot. Raid an Ancient City and there's even a small chance at a Warden egg — one of the rarest drops in the mod. Every structure drops eggs that make thematic sense for that location: desert village chests have Camel and Husk eggs, shipwrecks have aquatic mobs, Nether fortresses have Blaze and Hoglin eggs, and so on.

As you gear up and fight mobs, you can equip your sword with the Eggstract enchantment to earn spawn eggs directly from kills. Even without the enchantment there's a 1% baseline chance on every mob kill, so dedicated hunters will slowly accumulate a collection over time.

Spawn Eggs in Structure Loot

Every major structure chest across the Overworld, Nether, and End has been given a curated egg pool appropriate to its dimension and theme. Each chest can yield up to four eggs (via four stacked loot pools at 100% / 100% / 75% / 50% chance), plus a separate 5% legendary pool for rare mobs like the Warden and Wither Skeleton. Egg rarity is weighted — common mobs appear more often than rare ones within the same pool.

Eggstract Enchantment

A new sword enchantment with three levels, available from the enchanting table. Killing a mob while wielding an Eggstract sword drops that mob's spawn egg at the kill location.

• No enchantment: 1% base chance on all kills
• Eggstract I: 11% (1% base + 10%)
• Eggstract II: 21%
• Eggstract III: 31%

Eggstract is mutually exclusive with Looting in the enchanting table — but Ancient City and End City chests contain pre-made treasure swords with both Looting III and Eggstract III, giving dedicated hunters something to chase.

Egg Pouch

A single-slot inventory item that stores an entire collection of spawn eggs. Right-click to instantly spawn the selected primary egg (consumes one from the stack). Sneak + right-click to open the Egg Pouch GUI, where you can manage your collection and choose which egg is your primary.

Egg Crate

A large block container (54 slots) that exclusively accepts spawn eggs. Use it as a display case or storage chest for your collection.

Configurable

All drop chances and rarity weights are exposed in config/mobspawnereggloot.json. Adjust pool chances, the base kill drop rate, Eggstract bonus per level, and rarity weights (common / uncommon / rare / legendary) to tune the mod to your server's balance preferences.
