Description
What is this mod? As the description says, it breathes life into Minecraft, mimicking the lively feel of the official Minecraft trailers
(I recommend using it with Fresh Animations).
Credits & Inspiration:
This mod was born from a desire to improve and optimize animal AI. I was initially inspired by the concept of herd behavior seen in RealKingAlbert's "Wild Behavior" mod. However, no code was copied or adapted. The herd system in this mod is an entirely new implementation built from scratch, heavily optimized for performance to fix the severe lag issues present in other implementations. All other mechanics are original additions designed to make the game feel like the official trailers.
My mod brings many mobs to life, and with every update, I aim to add more liveliness to even more mobs. So far, the changes include:
Golems: They now protect the player just as they do villagers!
They offer flowers to various mobs, and you can receive one by right-clicking! This happens randomly so it doesn't feel repetitive or predictable.
It enhances Golem AI to better protect both villagers and players—useful if a player wants to keep several around for defense.
Cats: Now, if you stand still, they walk around you while watching you, as if waiting for you to move. If you stay still for a long time, they get bored of pacing and lie down on the ground.
Pets: They now follow you! They trail you constantly, and if they can't, they keep a close eye on you.
(Currently, this applies to horses, donkeys, and llamas; it may or may not work with other mobs—I'm still working on that.)
Fun Fact: Pigs are very curious, just like in real life. Now, there's a chance something will catch their attention and they'll start following it. This can cause them to wander away from the herd, creating the perfect opportunity to tame them!
Horses are curious but noble; while something might pique their interest and draw them away from the group, they eventually lose interest and rejoin the herd.
Things I want to add in future updates!:
Slimes are now your friends! They won't attack you anymore, and golems won't attack them either.
Cats grab fish in their mouths, just like foxes do! Nothing more to explain.
Villagers now act like they do in the trailers!
