MobRig 2.0.0 — Changelog
✨ New
- Sky, weather and clouds: recordings now save the sky, fog and cloud colors as the game drew them, plus rain, thunder and the time of day. In Blender, the MobRig tab (N sidebar) has a "Cielo, nubes y clima" panel (sky, clouds and weather) to change clouds (off / flat / fancy, distance, height, opacity, speed), the time of day and the weather after importing.
- Block-breaking cracks: blocks being mined (by you, other players or mobs) show their crack stages in Blender, like in the game.
- Shapes that bend and stretch: beams, trails, banners and other parts that change shape are now exported as animated shape keys instead of freezing on one bone. Many modded mobs look right now (for example the Teletor from Alex's Caves).
- Damage flash: the red hurt flash and the white creeper flash are exported and animated in Blender.
- Mob list in Blender: the "Mobs de la escena" panel (mobs in the scene) shows or hides each mob and its skeleton.
- Player toggle: "Jugador por la cámara" (Auto / Visible / Hidden) for your own player. Auto hides it only for its own first-person camera.
- Viewport quality: the "Calidad del visor" panel has Baja / Media / Alta / Máxima presets (low to max) for smooth playback while you work. Draw distance and shadows only change the viewport: renders always come out at full quality.
⚡ Performance
- Huge scenes import in minutes: a scene with more than 2,000 entities went from over 2 hours to under 4 minutes.
- Much smoother playback in Blender:
- static terrain is merged into one mesh per region (a 59 s recording went from 125 ms to under 7 ms per frame);
- entities that only move (arrows, falling blocks, dropped items…) are drawn as one crowd object, the "Multitud" option (22 ms down to 3 ms per frame in a 2,000-entity scene);
- new "Solo los mobs del momento" option (only the mobs of this moment): mobs that are not in the current second of the recording are skipped while playing.
- Smaller scenes when blocks change: placing or breaking a block now saves only the changed cells instead of the whole chunk again.
- Faster renders by default: EEVEE shadow resolution starts at 0.5 and Cycles uses Persistent Data (you can raise both in the render settings).
🐞 Fixes
- Modded mobs that disappeared when the mod squashed one of their bones to zero size (seen with the Lich from Bosses of Mass Destruction while teleporting).
- More accurate poses: the pose now comes from what the game actually drew, including mobs whose parts are drawn twice or under different parents (GeckoLib layers).
- Fast rotations were interpolated the wrong way in Blender (wings could be up to 30 cm off).
- Armor and clothing layers floated slightly off the body (stray, drowned…).
- Parts made of triangles or strips were missing, and some modded render layers got the wrong texture.
- Animation timing now uses the real length of each game tick.
- Block entities that appear a little after their chunk (chests, spawners…) no longer pop in late, and still parts no longer jitter.
📦 Update both files
Download the new mod and the new Blender add-on (io_mcscene 0.2.12, Blender 4.4 or newer; tested on Blender 5.2). Re-import your scenes with the new add-on to get the improvements. Clouds use the texture from your own Minecraft installation. The add-on interface is in Spanish.
