# Mirror (Psychological Horror)
I got tired of horror mods that just spam you with loud jumpscares the second you load into a world. Where's the build-up? Where's the actual tension?
Mirror is built differently. It's a slow-burn, purely psychological horror experience that progressively breaks down your sanity over hours of playtime. You won't see a monster in the first 10 minutes. Instead, the mod specifically targets your sense of security and messes with your head.
### The Slow Burn
The mod works on a hidden Paranoia progression system that takes over 3 hours to fully peak. It starts with the absolute smallest details imaginable. You might be mining underground and hear a footstep right behind you that stops the exact second you stop moving. Or you'll hear your own block-breaking noises echoing back from deep inside the cave, slightly distorted. Was that a creeper hiss in your left ear, or just your mind playing tricks?
### Environmental Gaslighting
You know how you feel perfectly safe once you build a house? You aren't. Mirror actively tracks where you spend the most time (your base). If you turn your back in your house, you might hear a wooden door gently creak open.
The mod also implements an eerie mechanic where the game monitors exactly what your camera isn't looking at. That torch you placed in the hallway? It might silently burn out. The flowers outside your window? They'll quietly wither into dead bushes while your back is turned. Without any block update sounds.
### Pure Paranoia
There are completely elusive entities in this mod. You might catch a silhouette standing at the absolute edge of your render distance in the fog. But the second your crosshair gets near it, it vanishes. No trace. No attack. Just watching.
There's also a system that reads your movement logs. Eventually... something might start replaying your exact paths from an hour ago.
### Breaking the Fourth Wall
I really didn't hold back on the psychological aspect. As your paranoia hits its absolute limit, Mirror will start directly gaslighting your actual game client.
- You might get fake server messages claiming a player has joined your completely private singleplayer world.
- The game's window title might quietly hijack itself when you aren't paying attention.
Don't play this mod waiting for a monster to jump out at you. Install it, play Minecraft normally, and let the rot slowly sink in.
