Minestrappolation 5.5.0A
What's new
Changelog
New Features
- Added Heart Pieces! Found in most generated loot chests, or when killing Evoker Illagers or Elder Guardians.
- Added Heart Containers! Crafted with 4 Heart Pieces. Can be used to permanently increase your maximum health by 1 heart, even after dying.
- Players can reach up to 20 hearts of max health by default, though this can be increased or decreased via the config.
- Added Crates from M4! Similar to Barrels, but cheaper and with less inventory space. Crates only cost 4 planks total, as opposed to the 8 required for Chests, but have 1 less row of inventory, making them a good early-game storage option.
- Added Shimmering Ore! Spawns under the Lava oceans in the Nether. Shimmering Ore emits sparkle particles that rise upward, making it visible even when it generates deep under the Lava. Can only be harvested with a Titanium Pickaxe or better.
- Added Shimmering Chunks. Obtained by crushing Shimmering Ore.
- Added Buckets of Crystalfloe! Alloyed with Shimmering Ore/Chunks and an empty Bucket (recipe will be changed once we re-implement the Melter from M4). Produces a Crystalfloe source block when placed.
- Added Crystalfloe -- Minestrapp 5's first custom liquid! It's white, semi-transparent, flows slightly slower than Water, and emits a low light level.
- Crystalfloe pushes entities around like Water, but does not affect their vertical momentum. Players and mobs thus can't swim in it, making it great for mob farms, since they can't try to swim upstream.
- Crystalfloe also gives entities swimming in it the Glowing effect, making it a great way of monitoring mobs as they move through a grinder.
- Flowing Crystalfloe creates Cobbled Shimmerstone when it touches Water or Lava from the side, and smooth Shimmerstone when touching Water or Lava from above.
- Crystalfloe sources turn into Strange Boulders when touching Water or Lava.
- Added Shimmerstone! A new stone type only obtainable by colliding Crystalfloe with Water or Lava.
- Shimmerstone comes in the same variants as the 10 Overworld stone types -- Bricks, Cobbled, Chiseled, etc. It also features Tiles, Glow-Mossy Bricks, and Glowshroom Lamps, which act as a decorative light source akin to Portar Lamps.
- Added Strange Geodes. Obtained by colliding Water or Lava with a Shimmerstone source block. Don't have a use yet, but hold on to them for the next update! Can only be harvested with a Titanium Pickaxe or better.
- Added Chandeliers! Currently come in 4 varieties -- Spooky Black, Spooky Orange, Spooky Lime, and Spooky Purple. Chandeliers behave the same way as Candles, and can be lit using a Flint and Steel or a Bottle of Dragon Breath.
- Spooky Chandeliers are only obtainable via any loot chests from October 10-31. Other Chandeliers are planned for future events, so these will be sort of a running collector item.
- Added Mob Skulls! Dropped by most mobs with bones (and some of the ones without). Can be worn on your head like Skeleton Skulls, or used as a crafting ingredient for creating a Soulsteel Vessel (these'll be RLL important next update, so you'll want to get one while you can).
- Mob Skulls come in 20 variants (not including the existing Vanilla Skull) -- Bat, Parrot, Chicken, Rabbit, Pig, Sheep, Cow, Llama, Horse, Ocelot, Wolf, Polar Bear, Villager, Husk, Stray, Creeper, Guardian, Enderman, and Shulker. There is also one mystery Skull not listed here.
- Mob Skulls have a 1/20 chance to drop from their respective mob from October 10-31 -- they can be found year-round as well, but at a massively reduced rate of 1/666. Collect them all while you can!
- Added an advancement for collecting all 21 Skulls.
Changes
- Survival players now spawn with only 5 hearts of maximum health by default. This can be edited via config.
- Netherrack Chunks can now be smelted into Nether Bricks.
- Skeleton Skulls renamed to Human Skulls for consistency.
- Updated the Absolute Madmason advancement to include Shimmerstone.
- Updated the Prospective Prospector advancement to include Shimmering Ore and both Strange Boulders.
- Changed Soulsteel Vessel recipe -- now requires 5 Steel Ingots, 2 Bone Blocks, any Skull, and a set of Soul Eyes (the things that generate on the Charwood "trees" in the Nether).
Bug Fixes
- Fixed an issue with the culling on Invincium, which could cause extra render lag. Thanks, @elucent !
