MineGlot

Client-side AI translator for Minecraft 1.8.9 Forge using OpenAI or Claude.

Translate your own messages, selected player chat, private messages, and signs. Your API key stays stored locally on your computer.

Requirements

  • Minecraft Forge 1.8.9
  • Java 8
  • OpenAI or Claude API key
  • No server-side plugin required

Quick Start

  1. Install Minecraft Forge 1.8.9.
  2. Put the MineGlot .jar in your Minecraft mods folder.
  3. Launch Minecraft.
  4. Open the MineGlot menu.
  5. Add your OpenAI or Claude API key.
  6. Choose your language, default language, provider, and model.

Main Commands

/trs <text> Translate a message.
/trs <player> <text> Translate and send a private message.
/translate <text> Same translation command.
/translation Click an already visible or incoming chat line to translate it.
/trs-clear Remove the last cached translation.

Privacy

MineGlot is client-side only. Servers do not need to install anything.

Your API key is stored locally and is only used to send translation requests to the provider you choose.

Report Server Detection Problems

If MineGlot does not detect chat correctly on a public server, please report it here: Server chat detection problems.

Please include the server name, server address, what went wrong, and an example chat line if possible.

Please only share public server addresses. Do not post private server IPs, private messages, API keys, or personal information.
